Shocks vs UAB Ticket Prices

I've run into some WSU season ticket holders who thought this game WAS INCLUDED in the season ticket package. I hope that's just a random case, otherwise that could explain the apparent lack of sales so far. Maybe everyone assumed that since the last game was at IBA and was included with the season tickets, that this one will be as well.

I guess we'll know for sure when season tickets go out and everyone who's unaware, realizes the game isn't included. Let's just hope the tickets go out in a more timely manner than the schedule getting released.. :roll:

I don't want to bring this back up again but I heard that Marshall had some comments regarding WSU needing to support this UAB game to get future BCS opponents who are interested in coming to Intrust Bank Arena but are waiting for success or something like it? Did anyone hear his interview on KSGO regarding this comment?

I did not hear the quotes on KSGO but he did make essentially the same comments on Sports Daily on KFH recently. He said that the promoter said he had some BCS programs lined up that he thought he could entice to come to Wichita if Shocker and Wichita basketball fans show strong support for this year's game with UAB.

I can pony up some bucks one time a year and accept a game at IBA if that is what is best for the program.

Maybe I shouldn't have been so matter-of-fact. I should rephrase and say that based on sales so far, our fanbase is showing that there are a lot of pretenders out there. Hopefully the next few weeks a major revelation will occur.

I may reconsider and try to get tickets to this one. But having to undergo a pre-paid medical procedure, replace glass in a car, get a new hot water heater and possibly a washing machine all in one week may make that more difficult. I know I'm not the only one with unexpected financial obligations, but it sure makes it tough to justify additional expenditures like this.

I'm in the same boat. New stove. A couple new doors. New washer. A surgical proceedure. On going lab work and doctor visits. And going back to school. And I have no idea how much longer the car is going to survive. And I think I'm missing something.
