I disagree. From when I saw Conner play, I believe he will do well at KU. I don't mean he will be a starter his freshman year, but by the time he finishes his career, he will be a really nice player and will earn plenty of playing time.Originally posted by ShockerFever

Sure I would have preferred him to be at WSU, but I also understand a young man having a dream. If I'd have been good enough, I'd have waited for the St. Louis Cardinals to make an offer before signing with anyone else and would have accepted a lot less than with anyone else just because I dreamed of playing for the Cards. Of course, I came before the draft days.Comment

I'm always surprised when a young person puts more value in a 4 year long commentment away from home vrs of a long lifetime "after Basketball" living in hometown Wichita as a hometown hero. When I was 18, all I wanted to do was get away from home. The basketball factor could complicate the issue a bit, but when kids graduate from high school, they are looking at becoming adults, and for many, being away from mom and dad and blazing their own trail. As an athlete, it can complicate the matter. And I understand fans wanting the local stud to stay. That said, who could blame any 18 year-old, in any city, in any situation from wanting to get out? If he wants to see a lot of playing time early on, then he must add a lot of muscle/weight. He's so skinny he has to run around in the shower to get wet. There are but a few exceptions in high tier D1 basketball that I can think of where a skinny guy was a factor on the team, Kevin Durant, Rip Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince to name a few.
However, his position may not require him to be all that involved except for the perimeter which serves his game well. I just hate seeing Wichita State not getting a 'sniff' from local talent and PE will be another example.Comment
