Beans are looking good but corn looks like crap around here. BTW, stereotyping just makes you look like a moron. Not every K-Stater is a farmer, and not all farmers root for K-State. Jus' saying. And you should be greatful for farmers. They do tough job that not many people can or are smart enough to.

I'm glad our pesky facts disrupted your skewed view of reality into you getting into a "statistics" tiff over this. It's ok. It sucks to know your little town is just as meaningless.

How's the farmland doing these days with the heat?
I loved the stats!!! It took me back three or four years to the Wichita/ Omaha debates on VT!

Cold dispensing his facts, eOmaha dispensing his, the whole shooting match!!!

I used to chime in just to stir things up. And Fever, you may remember me doing this, one of my favorite things to do was to inteject news stories whenever cattle were loose on the freeway in either city! I still remember the story that pissed off my fellow Omahan's. 200 hog carcasses were spilled out of a semi right on the interstate! :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

And yes, stories of cattle on the freeway pop up in that megalopolis of Kansas Cuty, too!!!

Those were great times! I wish I had copied that thread onto some word document. That thing was like 50 pages long and could keep anybody entertained for hours upon hours. Hell, you could probably have sold that thread purely on entertainment value alone and made easy $$.

I'm proud to say there's nothing resembling KCMO included in Wichita's metropolitan area. Johnson County is OK, if industrial parks and suburbia is what you're looking for. If you live on the Kansas side and want to do anything past what Wichita has, you've got to go to the Missouri side.

I'll gladly settle for what Wichita has if it means I never have to set one foot in KCMO ever again in my life.

Maybe baseball games. It's always real easy to get tickets to see the farm team for Boston, New York, Houston, etc. play teams from the big cities.

          Are you BSCat's hidden alias???

Listen buddy, if this turdrocket is gonna come on here and do one of her usual drive-bys to rile up the masses, you better believe I'm gonna stick it to her where it hurts. And that's where it hurts for that sap.

I've had this conversation before with pinstriper. If you aren't smart enough to realize my jab wasn't directed to the entire farming force out there producing my food supply and instead was merely stated to make BSCat tear up like the little girl that she is, then you should probably avoid posting altogether and gain some board knowledge.

I relish in the fact that BSCat takes time out of her day (probably every day, even if she doesn't post), types "shockernet" into her computer, and looks for ways to one-up every Shocker fan around. The moderators talk to her, she disappears for a while because she got shut down, but always finds her way back here, displaying her ignorance. At some point, I do take pride in knowing that she truly does care about Wichita State, Wichita, etc. That's why she's always here and nobody goes over to powertard.com, because simply nobody cares enough about Aggie Tech or Mancrappin to waste their time.

In short, don't take my slams toward BSCat as a slam towards you. Those things are meant for her personal agony, not you. Hopefully, you can understand this.

            BCSCat, you're an idiot.

No matter what metric you use, Beijing isn't even in the world's Top 10 cities.

If you're gonna toss around numbers, toss around the right numbers. Factual flaws call your entire argument into doubt, especially when everything is unsourced.

Look, I have no problem slamming the trolls on here, but unless it's Ku or creighton, throwing out generalized statements to slam an entire fanbase with insults not worth the calories burned typing them is degrading of a Shocker. That kind of stuff goes on here: http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=172&f=2481

You can endeavor to slam KU all you want. But it is purely subjective. KU has Nat'l Championships, a beautiful campus, and provides a great college atmosphere. WSU has a Nat'l Championship, a beautiful campus. K-State has nothing!

Kansas State has some 23,500 students from all 50 states and over 90 countries so, yes, there is plenty of diversity.
As a former resident and one time student at UCLA, would you like to hear how sillly your puffing of KC and K State sound to me?

As a former resident of Chicago, San Diego and Baltimore, I concur. At the same time, before you get too big on where you live, they occasionally have the running of the bulls in the LA area, too!.

A big-rig crash on the Foothill Freeway was bad news for cows Wednesday, but good news for tigers at the Wildlife WaystationThe Wildlife WayStation is a 160-acre refuge in northern Los Angeles County..... The truck carrying a herd of dairy cattle crashed into another truck pulling a Hot Dog on a Stick trailer

Hot Dog on a Stick trailer! Priceless!!!
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Kinda off topic, but I hope CF has a good run at KU. Maybe WSU will be privleged enough to play KU during his tenure.

As I posted years agon on VT on the Wichita/ Omaha thread, it's not where you live, it's who you are.

I have met complete idiots and backwards people who lived in the most cosmopolitan of cities and I have met some of the coolest people from rural areas and small towns.

I didn't always know that. I learned that in the military and moving into cities, big and small across the country. Furthermore, with the advancement of technology, the internet and everything else, people are becoming less and less defined by where they live. A short notice round trip ticket to anywhere on Southwest can be bought for $150. I can be at Mission Beach tomorrow by Noon! Fads, fashion and all that other crap spreads across the country in days to weeks, or maybe a month or two. No longer does it take six months to a year for what is popular in LA or New York to reach Des Moines.

You find jerks everywhere and you find some of the most in touch people everywhere. There are farmers that have iPhones and tweet on Twitter, at the same time, there are residents of Miami that don't even have a cell phone or know how to text.

Anymore, when people lead with the town and demographics of where they live, I see insecurity. You're either a dolt or you're not. You ain't cool or know more just because you are from a bigger city.

Having lived in JoCo for the past 25 years, I can safely say that JoCo is more a suburb of Lawrence than it is Kansas City.... if you know what I mean.

It has only been in the last 5 years that you could find a decent hamburger joint, and there is exactly ONE.

In the 80s and 90s, you could have your house painted any color you wanted as long as it was an HOA approved shade of Lenexa beige...
