Where were these refs when we played Marshall? EVERY shot is a foul with almost 0 calls. And Marshall is Brazilesque with their flopping, which isn't helping their cause. Funny how that changes.

I knew that was gonna happen too. Marshall doesn't look as formidable without every referee bending them over for rub downs this game.

No idea what Xavier was thinking there...fouling FSU with 8 seconds left on the shot clock and then waste time down to 7 seconds before having your center air-ball a 3, terrible game management

Wow. A 1, two 2s, a 3, and a 4 seed go down today.

Only 7 of the S16 will be top 4 seeds. That seems incredible. And of those, three won their R32 games by a single possession, and KU nearly fell as well.

Two things:

-The city of Cincinnati has to be in full melt down mode

-Common theme in this tournament is that one team has a lead and control most of the game, blows lead and loses. I can count at least six times this happened so far. Makes for great TV drama

FSU / Xavier does the Nevada / Cincy shuffle as FSU outscores the X 18-4 over the last 5 1/2 minutes to win by 5.

How do you think Virginia and their highly touted D feels after today. Didn't do them a whole lot of good. At least we knew we had a problem defense.

The only thing I can take solace in with us losing and all these upsets is that our bracket still has the top 3 seeds. Cincy and Houston missed out big time.

Yep. We would have had a brutal path forward even if we had won, and I have zero faith we would have survived to the E8, let alone further. We would have been significant underdogs against WVU, Villanova, and Purdue, if any of those games had happened.

Cinci and Houston may have both ended up being favored in every game to the F4 if they'd won their games -- only exception would be *maybe* Gonzaga, if they got past FSU.

I'd be pissed if we were in either of their brackets and blew that opportunity. Especially Cinci -- Nevada, Loyola, and then UK or K-State? 40/60 that's a F4 run, even with our weaknesses.

This Marshall/WVU game is almost as embarrassing for us as it is for Marshall. The thing is, Marshall didn't even play that great to beat us. It's not like they were unconscious from 3 or anything. They shot 38%. Their defense is below average. Can you imagine how many turnovers we would have had against West Virginia? Willis may have had double figures in traveling calls by himself.

Yes, however bad it feels to be a Shocker right now, think how much worse it must feel to be a Bearcat. Not that I have a lot of sympathy for them after their, shall we say, less than gracious victory celebration in Koch Arena. File this one under "What Comes Around Goes Around."

Gotta believe there's a certain amount of schadenfreude being felt by quite a few Shocker fans right now, with regard to both Houston and especially Cincinnati.
