Colorado State coach Niko Medved’s staff will include Dave Thorson, Ali Farokhmanesh and JR Blount, source told ESPN.
He was at Drake with Medved.

    • Thorson was a high school coach two years ago and Drake fans made it sound he made the move to Drake because he eventually wanted to take over as a HC someday. Some fans wanted him to take over this season.

            • Welcome to the board Shoxing. Well Mississippi is his home so maybe Ole Miss is a draw for him. Pay for Assistant's may or may not be a little better although I'd think we are competitive. It certainly isn't a step up from a basketball standpoint, especially with it's current new coaching staff. Isaac has done a nice job of recruiting in the Arkansas, Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, etc. region for us.

So if he has in fact been offered, the decision may be a bit of a dilemma for him.

              • Sounds like a great opportunity for him.

                • Maybe we can replace him with a great recruiter.

And maybe for Ole Miss too? De Antoni Gordon? Serrell Smith May be go there again? Rod Brown? Chance Moore? I’m sure that he can be replaced but it does put us in catch up mode recruiting wise.

No. My point wasn’t that they would leave. I was simply pointing out that he has shown value with his past recruiting. I’m not even sure of which future recruits he’s in play for. I think we are still in play for Smith and Gordon. Other future recruits, not sure.

                    Ah, I see.

I know he was the point man on Gordon, so that’s why I said that.

That being said, WSU is still in a better position to succeed than Ole Miss. The Shox would be fine regardless.

It won’t be a crisis but to downplay his value would be wrong. I would have liked to keep Heiar too and we just had a nice recruiting class last fall. But who knows how we would have done. Maybe better.

                • Potentially a complete turn over of our Assistant Coaches in about 12 months. Not an optimal situation.

Is that a good thing? Has he recruited any who signed other than Midtgaard?

Lindsted was the lead on Lomax, Stevenson, Udeze, Chandler. In the past I can recall Reaves and Midtgaard.
