Something queer here... Wikipedia says Coach had 462 wins as of the end of last season as a head coach. I think there is a lot of fantasy going on somewhere and I don't think it is with the most of the WSU fanbase.

You have a top 25 team comprised of 7 seniors and 2 juniors and a red-shirt sophomore whose been in the program three years, you'd think all this experience, talent development and growth would pay dividends this year. While at times this team has parlayed this wealth of experience in-game, I don't blame HCGM for smoke coming out of his ears seeing the bone headed crap this team has also displayed too. WTH was Shaq doing last night? Did you see his lazy arse not blocking out under the rim? You've heard the old 'you can lead a horse to water' adage right?

It doesn't matter MM is out, this team has underwhelmed the entire season. It really does look and feel like this team is expecting teams to just lay down for them due to seeing the ranking next to Shockers. He sees it, we see it, and a senior laden team should not be performing like we have. I realize in today's society political correctness and treating people with pillow hands is the norm but damn, the overreaction is strong with a lot of folks on this board. I'd be concerned if HCGM wasn't pissed.

This is the part that is pertinent. In the past Coach has seemed to get through periods like this, but it has been kind of ongoing. Not the technical or the blowups; I mean the play of some of the guys. Shaq needs an attitude adjustment. Look at the floating passes last night. Those wouldn't even happen in the past. 11 of the top 30 coaches, in wins, had tainted victories associated with their totals. The point is that Coach Marshall has done it the clean way, at what was forever a mid-major school, in a declining conference. So yes, I do think he will be in those conversations regarding the best coaches ever.

After watching the video again, I’m becoming convinced that the ref said or did something to initiate this exchange during the post-game handshakes. Marshall is yelling “you got a problem?” which is a response that one would make when the other party is taunting or being antagonistic. If that is the case, that is pretty shameful behavior by the ref.

Going out of your way to lay into a ref while you're in a tight game up 9, with the other team heading to the free throw line with the end of the game in sight is a dumb move, on any level of basketball. And then ignoring the opposing team in the handshake line to passively stalk the ref on his way out is disrespectful. It is not acceptable for any player to do that ever, and should be the same for any coach. The problem with passion in any facet of life is you lose perspective in the moment. He's played and coached long enough to know horrible reffing will be there for the rest of eternity...you fight through adversity. He's played in enough tight games to know you can have 0 miscues at the end of games, because each miscue will impact the outcome...you stay disciplined. Passion brings about both good and bad in people. If we value highly passionate people leading our youth, teams, organizations, we have to accept that there will be mental lapses in judgement in those emotional moments.

I watched it from my seat, GGG was yapping at the ref before he made it to the handshake line. I'm sure it was a mutual conversation, but it started prior to the beginning of that video clip. Both had been going back and forth since the T was issued. So much so that Marshall called him out for swapping sides of the floor when said official would have been on the bench side.
