It’s kind of weird what going on with this thread here. People are starting to sound like national pundits who go on shows explaining why Marshall hasn’t got a “Big Time” job.
Is this the beginning of him becoming the victim of his success? Now that we’re a national program we suddenly expect things to be perfect and forget what it took to get here and who did it?
Marshall had always ran hot since he’s been here and we’ve joked about it several times on this very site but now his behavior has become so embarrassing we need to be worried? Again, I’m not saying GGG can do no wrong, in fact, if Marshall was an opposing coach in our league I’d hate him but he’s our coach. A self made great coach that came from Randolph-Freaking-Macon! He’s changed the program’s mind set and the fanbase’s as well by being the fighter he is. It isn’t always pretty but I’ve imbraced it from the first day he stepped on campus.

Randy Smithson was one of us. He fought some personal demons, but I always liked him... he was a nice guy!



P.S. This isn't a knock on Randy. Unfortunately, it just didn't work out.

I knew Randy, Jay Jackson, Tony Martin, et al when they played for Cowley Co. Man, the stories! I really hoped he'd do well at the next level of coaching, especially at WSU. But, somehow he messed up with Maurice Evans and it was downhill from there.

Let's face it.....the stakes are higher this year than ever before. New conference, dubbed Marshalls best team ever, ranking is up there with all the blueblood teams. Of course all of that is stressful, and couple that with we are now everyone's Super Bowl game. I personally feel like the past two games have been an anomaly in that they just shot lights out. Hats off to OU and Arkansas State. Won 1 and lost 1. That's ok. We are a whisker away from being undefeated. I for one love coach Marshalls intensity.....I don't even question it.

With all all that said I think coach Marshall is still shouldering many assistant coaching duties....or rather....still getting used to the assistants that are new this year. I would say this team and the puzzle will be a lot more clear by mid January when mcduffie is back, we have a couple aac games under our belt, and the coaching staff settles in.

Lot of truth to this; prob more than we realize. Not that current staff is bad/inferior to previous, but it is an adjustment period for all.

Noob question: what is the orange bar underneath people's names? Sometimes it's all white like an empty meter. I'm assuming it has to do with some validation process, and if so, how's figured? I see mine is now full, but I have relatively few posts.
