Years ago, I used to buy 20-game cards that could be used all at one time; or two per game, or as a single ticket per game. How would they know, on a sold basis, which game or games to count that for? I know WSU gate has click-type counters they use, but that can't be too accurate.

KU's game at the Sprint is a "home" game and thus gets KU's total attendance about AFH's capaicty of 16,300.

So season tickets as a constant + walk-up/single-session + students (however they do that)?
From a fiscal perspective of the school, yes, but not for a judge of consistent atmosphere and overall fan exuberance (which I think is probably the point of comparing these figures).
I would rather have the butts in seat number than sold.

Therefore, most all schools' numbers are skewed in the same direction, so the rankings would still be relevant.
Sort of.

Baseball used to only report butts-in-seat in the box scores until Schaus showed up. That was changed to tickets sold.

Of course in our society today were less concerned about the truth and are more concerned about showing and illusion of progress - but I digress.
