no. so far the only mention has been the Tenn St. player's tweet.
“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'

I wonder how ISU fans feel about one of their own coaching here. It would be strange to see Matty B. coaching at another Valley school.

When Dana was a graduate assistant at WSU, he gave instructions to a current Shocker recruit, Perry Ellis.

Dana is a fantastic guy, and I think he will develop into a great recruiter. He is a young, likeable guy...who has playing and coaching experience in the Valley.

The Ellis thing can't hurt either :).

IF we land Ellis I am going to write-in Marshall for Mayor.

First, I'll assume that there is not a shortage of interest in our coaching positions and second, I'll trust HCGM's choice, particularly, since he's familar with that choice.

Assuming #1 is correct and not knowing about #2, one not as close to WSU would probably view Ford's hiring somewhat of a surprise.

My surprise is that a more experienced, visually quality coach was not hired first, then the Ford hire. I hope my concern is totally unfounded.

My guess is the staff is going thru a lot of apps or whatever in finding the last coach and will take enough time to make sure they go in the right direction. I also think that 3G thinks highly enough of Ford to bring him in and feels he brings plenty of value to the program. The next hire will no doubt be someone with more experience.

Anybody have a read on the second name we have, Ben Betts? From what I can tell, he still hasn't accepted a new position.

No read, but I know he's an old southeastern (SC, Virginia, etc) guy. Probably a good fit from what I can tell.

That's kind of what I was thinking. I wouldn't complain if he were the one to finish the staff.

Does anybody know where Ford's area of knowledge is? Are we looking to hit up Illinois (Chicago) more with him?

                          I'd hate to sacrifice Texas.

That's my main concern too. That we're getting too concerned with the southeast and losing touch w/Texas.

It concerns me for more than one reason, actually.

Texas is relatively close, has a wealth of talent, and we don't have to recruit over as many names/schools.
