Not sure where that came from. With the next assistant, I'm hoping to get someone with some good recruiting ties. Preferably Texas. And while I have absolutely no problem with Ford being hired, I wouldn't want two guys who aren't as experienced on the staff. I doubt we'll see that, just saying.

Whats with a lot of you complaining about his inexperience? If I recall right, half of you were saying you wanted Matt Brauer. Ford may not have much experience but he has more than Brauer does.

      I trust anyone Marshall gets.

How can this hire be questioned? Ford has worked with Marshall at two different schools. He's worked with Jans. They both know him and what he brings to the table. He understands the style of play in the Valley - and has coached it as an assistant. He's familiar with the territory that makes up the Valley.

It's pretty obvious tht 100% of the current coaching staff supports this hire. ADES probably approved the hire.

A lot of recruiting is sales. Sales is a lot easier when you know, believe in, and trust the product you're selling.

This looks like a real solid hire. When you check an applicant's references and find yourself there, it makes a hiring decision pretty easy - one way or the other. And we know which way Marshall went.

Also to carry on the point that he's worked for Marshall previously as a GA, it shows a lot about him that Marshall would pick him back up as a full fledged assistant. In the business world, you don't hire an intern if they are horrible at the job. He's shown Marshall what he can do as a GA, and must have been good enough for HCGM to hire him back. That fact shows me enough to be completely confident in his hire.

I saw on Twitter that Ben Betts and Jeff Capel were watching former OU commit Richard Peters. If Betts comes to WSU this is the quality of recruits that he will have on-going ties with:

Dana Ford will be one of the speakers at this year's Rising Coaches Clinic in Las Vegas in late July. Other speakers include Cuonzo Martin, Kevin O'Neill and John Cooper.

He was an assistant at OU under Capel and believed to be in the running for one of our assistant positions. I haven't heard where he ended up.

He was also an assistant at College of Charleston under John Kresse from 1998 to 2002 where Gregg Marshall was an assistant from 1988 to 1996.
