Nice game by everyone. Agree with everything wusphlash says. AM is able to handle the ball well when its not a bounce entry pass. AR looked more like the young man we say last year. Curious that he was teamed with LS. SMJ again looked very good. But all of them did at times. A good game to build on.

AM looks a lot better when people get him the ball in the post. There's nothing wrong with the hands. Lot to learn but a very nice upside to the young man.
People should feel better about Austin as well. 10 points including a 27 buzzer beater that got nothing but net.
Really like the way Rod Brown moves on the court. Like AM he has much to learn but has a tremendous upside.
The only downer for me was seeing Markis still wearing a cast. Would like to see him move to a walking boot so that ankle can begin to loosen.

If this is what Shamet looks like after 3+ months of no ball, then the AAC is in for a surprise. He's a PG like I don't think we've ever seen at WSU. His combination of size, speed, athleticism, and shooting is incredible. He set the bar pretty high the second half of his Fr year, but I think he's going to push it a lot higher this year. In the group of men that the Shox put on the court, Shamet is THE MAN!
An earlier post asked if Midtgaard looked as good as Kennedy was describing. I didn't hear Kennedy, but, yes he did. Looked like a completely different player than the one that was on the court Saturday. He was sprinting down the court in transition and at least once was the first player to the basket in transition. Struggled with some bunnies early in the game, but seemed to get a lot more comfortable as the game went on. Played some great D and some ole D. I think he could contribute this year, but I don't know if we need him this year.
Willis has turned "beast mode" on. I haven't checked his stats on 3's. I think he was 0 for a lot. There won't be much of a scout on him for Maui.
Reaves started looking like Reaves. He hit one from about 30' with the shot clock expiring.
If RBrown can take a red shirt, we are going to have some great years out of him. Kelly is doing well backing up Brown at SF and Willis at PF. There aren't a lot of minutes available for RBrown. It would be a shame to basically waste a year of his eligibility. He's going to be a player and probably a star, but that's not going to happen this year.Last edited by Aargh; November 6, 2017, 11:17 PM.The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

SHJ looked good, very good. Kelly's job is to help win, and that's what he does. Newman was a lot better than Henderson, but we were a lot better than we were on Saturday. My SWAG on attendance would be 4500. Mittgard looks a lot better if somebody actually gets him the ball. HCGM yells a LOT. Reaves looked a lot better.

I said that AR wasn't the same kid as a year ago. I was wrong.
RN was a beast tonight.
The talk about DW using his right hand more is a lie.
We will absolutely love RB the next few years. Athletic, agressive with nice touch. Coach rides his ass though.
AM is a beast. Makes RN look small. Has a nice touch on free throws. Good hands. Can really spread out in the lane. Still lots to learn but will see minutes this year.

Box score reporting the attendance at 5,345.
Rauno was the beneficiary of some great assists from his teammates but he was busting his buns and making some great cuts to get open.
Austin looked much, much, much better tonight. As did Asbjorn and Rod.
Daishon who?
Rashard and Zach played hard and showed good leadership.
The Shocks missed 3 of their first five free throws and walk-ons Brycen and Jacob missed 3 of the last 4 free throw in the game. In between the Shocks hit 32-37 (86.5%).
Really looking forward to seeing what this team can do when we get both Landry and Markis back. It will interesting to see how much Landry will play on Friday against UMKC.Last edited by 1972Shocker; November 7, 2017, 12:26 AM.

Most important part of this game is probably how Shamet feels tomorrow morning.
It was Newman, so I don't want to get over-excited, but this team looks like it has a lot of talent. And that was with arguably the 2 best players combining for 10 minutes.

If R. Brown does redshirt, until MM gets back I do like the idea of Kelly at the 3, Willis at the 4, and Shaq at the 5. Kelly was handling the ball good tonight , made some nice passes, and always cleans glass and can handle some 3. This idea of course is when Z. Brown needs a rest.Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

It was hard to keep up with all the combinations Marshall used, so I could be wrong, but I think I recall seeing Midtgaard and Nurger on the floor at the same time. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
