Best of luck to Pat Knight. I also liked that he had the balls to play us home and home. I think we should return the favor.
Maybe if he has that program headed in the right direction in a couple years, but I think we are set on our #300 RPI teams on the schedule.
My bad. If they do have that high of a rpi, I agree we can't/don't want to play them. That's too bad since I think we should help them out.
I understand I guess, but just think of all the MVC coaches that moved on to maybe a better rpi and didn't want to help out their old Valley coaches.
Use to live just outside of DC. Always amazed by the attitude of Maryland fans. Their arrogance surpases that of anything a KU or University of Texas fan.
The A&M fan base is maybe 60-40 in favor of Turg. However there are some fans that think he's boring, predictable and too self critical of his own team.
Those in favor understand the lack of success the program has had over time. It's a football school 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th-10th. However, even these fans are interested in paying anything more for a coach that seems to be maintaining, AT BEST.
Maryland fans don't seem thrilled at all if it's true. Of course, Maryland fans are beyond out there. Especially for a program that has missed the NCAA's something like 6 of the last 8 seasons. I think they expect John Wooden to rise from the grave, or perhaps just cut through the muck and get Jesus Christ directly to lead them.
Texas A&M coach Mark Turgeon received a contract offer from Maryland on Monday to replace Gary Williams, a source with knowledge of the situation told ESPN.com.
Katz says Turgeon has been offered. Sounds like Maryland struck out on all their top targets and their back-up plans.
