Now, 1410 has a good sports show. They spread it around evenly, unlike Sports Daily. Chris Allison (whom might be a KU season ticket holder?) does an excellent job after Shocker games. :good: Him, I can listen to. Big Shocker game, they get top billing.. Big KU or K State game, they get top billing.. the way it should be, right on. So here's my objective recommendation to any programmers that might want to hear it- Get Haertl off of Shocker games and 1410 has the best balanced local sports show.

KGSO was good when Chris hosted with Randy Smithson. Dont like the new guy on there so I listen to Mike & Mike then turn radio off.

Yes I enjoy kgso. People should really give them a try if you're tired of boob and boob. Kgso is kinda too commercially for me. But still pretty good. Lots of shocker coverage.

You got it! KGSO is the way to go. Listen to it on your way to work. Listen to it on your drive home. Hell, they started a Shocker NIT report at 3:00 PM before the Washington State game! Sports Daily gave it five minutes.. from New York!

Haertl must go from Shocker play-by-play. 'Sorry if that puts a little sand in your coochie.

KGSO was pretty good in afternoon drive when Paul Savage was on hiatus for his campaign.

              I'm just sayin' ...

Bruce and Bob aren't the greatest sports talk guys in the world, but they are there in NY. Unfortunately, it isn't Shocker SoundOff, or the Mike Kennedy pregame show. It's a Wichita sports talk show. They gotta be open to everything.
Actually I used to listen every day & got tired of it. I don't think it was too crazy to anticipate some Shocker excitement this week. I guess I didn't think the point of being in NY was to whine for hours on end about a team that got obliterated.

When I listen to Hrtle, my skins crawls.

His over bearing attitude and arrogance is just too much for me.

When driving, sometimes I try to listen, but 60 seconds of Hrtle is about all I can stomach.

Note: I am sure that I am misspelling Hrtle, but I don't care.

Ditto on Savage. I actually find myself embarrased to be a Wichitan when he starts on with one of his long winded, totally unintelligent ramblings that ultimately lead to a totally random question for whoever he is interviewing. I can just see the look on the interviewee's face... what the f***? The KGSO afternoon show could be pretty good since they get pretty guests, but Savage is so bad, I can hardly stand to listen to it.

Chris Allison is good and Hugo Chavez isn't bad, even though he is a ChickenChoker homer. Would like one more afternoon talent and that would be a solid core for the local talk. They need to get rid of that syndicated clown at six that yells all the time. Not too wild about Pat O'Brien and the Loose Cannons either.

Oh and I miss Stephen A. Smith.

Any thoughts of having Jim Kobbe on radio ?

Dissenting opinion, I guess: I like Lutz and Haertl in their current format on the radio. If they go somewhere I don't like at times, I change the station and am glad for my XM.

They are bight guys who, if on occasion talk about movies or rock and roll more than you like, are a nice reminder that there is more to life than sports. Honestly, The show is pretty pro-WSU for the most part, but yes they are objective which is a good thing. The one thing they are clearly NOT objective about is their support of the city of Wichita. In the current culture of negativity brought on by outlets like the Opinion Line in the Eagle and cranky anonymous callers this is most welcome.

That show's role in the drive getting Intrust Arena approved by the tax payers of this community can not be overstated.

there is no 3 second delay on the radio for Jim.
