It's amazing what a few weeks will do to perspective. Also throw in some very well played games and our returning guys playing up to their potential. I myself think that next years team still has the potential to finish in the top two in the valley next year. People talk about isu red being good next year because of their youth and everyone is coming back, I would rather have the guys we have coming back plus the new ones we will have over anyone elses team in the valley next year.

I didn't try and rediscover my old posts on predictions for 2011-12 but I do recall wondering why everyone was picking Creighton over WSU. WSU swept CU last year and I thought the Shocks would have done better (in 2010-11) if Stutz had played more and Durley had played less; I wondered if Durley was a net positive or net negative in terms of attitude, effort, skill, defense, etc. Maybe someday I will try to find my old predictions and see if my posts corresponded with my personal impressions.

Yeah it may be a little rocky at first and then come on strong at the end of the year -- just sorta depends. Joe Ragland is a much more special player than I think he gets credit for on here (not that he's not getting credit and accolades). He really is one of the best point guards in the country and I think a large part of our success this year is that he is playing out of his mind. I expect FVV to be that type of player by the time he graduates -- but if we can get even a sniff of Ragland's ability next year from anybody then we could be pretty darn good again!

I'm probably one who thought it was nonsense. I felt Smith would only play the 4 in emergencies (injury/foul trouble) and very favorable matchups. Never did I think it would become intentionally done and successful. Ben has done a remarkable job.

If we don't duplicate 29 next season it will be because we have lost a heartbreaker in the NCAA and didn't get as many games to play.

This is an Internet message board, not a presidential campaign speech forum. At the time, I think most of those responses were valid. I certainly didn't see you stomping in there after the loss last year and telling anybody otherwise.

:) Nah, not really -- I'm just saying there was some rational discussion about how good we were gonna be this year, but emotional threads tend to dominate because of the roller coaster ride that was happening at the time.

I always love the people bringing up post counts as if it adds anything to the discussion.

Congrats on not logging on to Shockernet after the loss. That truly shows you only enjoy things when they are sunny. Probably a good idea to avoid threads like these then.
