Agree on the comment above about grandeur and attention to baseball being exaggerated in the Big 12. Outside of Austin and a couple of others, attendance is pretty lethargic and the sport is about 4th or 5th, or so most popular on most campuses. WSU has a lot to be proud of on the diamond that most of those places envy.
You may be right with your first statement, but we didn't. Tying for 1st in the MVC was meaningless as a ticket to post season play last year. And in past years, the Valley has been stronger, leading to the ability of an at large berth.

The statement was "The lowliness of the MVC and grandeur of the Big 12 are greatly exaggerated on this board". It wasn't comparing WSU program and attendance to the Big 12, but the MVC to the Big 12. Outside of WSU, home or away games, there is NO comparison between MVC and Big 12 attendance. I looked at the games for Saturday/Sunday for the first two weekends in May. The lowest attendence for any Big 12 game was 800+, many games were 2,000+. Take away WSU home games, the next highest games, at just above 1,000, was WSU at CU. The weekend before CU drew around 300 a game. A rough guess at all non-WSU games for the Valley during that time -- about 250.

WSU DOES have a lot to be proud of on the diamond that most of those places DO (or did) envy. That was never the arguement.
