I was among the many who really enjoyed Terry Elliott as Mike's sidekick. He always brought humor, brilliant insight and his own Shocker experiences to the table. I will go on record as saying I was alarmed when I found out Terry would not be returning.
THAT SAID, however, I'd like sing Shane's praises. He's been doing this for only a few short years, and a few of those were only on a parttime basis while waiting for Kennedy to return to baseball season. I have watched (listened) to him grow and improve at a very quick and steady pace. The Shane Dennis of old was a little stiff and tried not to overspeak. The Shane Dennis of now is explicit, bold, very very funny at times, and has brought incredible insight of his own to the table. He doesn't back down from speaking his mind (which is great for a color man) even though he works in the office.
When he did games solo this season, it was hard to tell he was alone because he kept it going so very well. He can pull the trigger with the best of 'em and I'd like to tip my cap to you Shane - you are doing a REMARKABLE job!!
Thank you from a Shocker radio fan.
