Before replacing Scott 'Cub' Smith in the Shocker baseball office, Shane broadcast the Wichita Wranglers for the 2001 season (solo). He also replaced Ted Woodward as the voice of the women's basketball team for the last 3 years of the Jane Albright regime (again, solo). He has a strong history of broadcasting, most of it by himself.

I miss Terry. Shane isn't bad but if I could pick between the two, Terry. I don't mean that to take anything away from Shane though.

SD talks more than Terry did, is more polished as an announcer, is a little more critical, and goes much deeper into the strategy. He is also more of a numbers guy with more stats.

Terry was more laid back and funnier in an aw shucks sort of way. He let Mike call the game and interjected his comments less frequently. He also spoke from a catcher's perspective which I enjoyed.

I can't really say I like one more than the other but they are very different.

        I do miss Terry.

I miss the long tailed cat in the room filled with rocking chairs.
