How embarrassing. Aggie Tech has won 4 in a row against us. I used to think I would never had seen 2 in a row lost to them in my lifetime. And now this? Truly embarrassing.
It was only a matter of time once we started spending more money on baseball. The sport was always an afterthought at KSU but a winning football program bringing in money and the increased competition the Texas schools have brought with the formation of the Big XII has really changed the sport for us.
And I think it's something like 8 of the last 11.
Why are you on a baseball board when the sport is meaningless to you? This has been said ad nauseum by you in the past. But I guess now since Kitten State had decided to start winning at such an "intramural" sport, only now that you begin to show interest. And by no surprise when KSU now beats a program that still is ahead of it, it is a big deal for you. Your hypocrisy works in mysterious ways.
Your winning football program is an afterthought. That is for sure. You are right about the Big XII Texas schools helping you. They are the only reason your conference is relevant in the sport. And it is by sheer lucky chance that you were able to dwell in the Big 12 and ride on the coattails of other more powerful institutions.
Your meltdowns are entertaining - even though college baseball is no big deal to me it's fun to be here. You may want to try Zoloft.
Brad Hill received a nice extension and raise after last season. He's a native Kansan and loves it in Manhattan. Not saying he won't leave some day but I would be very surprised if he he left very soon.
And being in the Big XII is not "luck". We were a charter member of the Big 6 and the one time we were in danger of being ousted we hired Bill Snyder. It was a gamble that paid off in spades. When WSU was faced with a failing football program they quit.
Remember - Zoloft.
I just googled for the basic terms of this fantastic new contract for Hill. It's through 2013 at $160K base per year.
I wouldn't brag about that. That's barely more than what Brent Kimnitz makes, and about 1/3rd of what Gene brings home.

So were your meltdowns during the end of the first Snyder era and in Prince's. Football took a nosedive and your board was chalk full of hatred for Prince and wondering WTH happened. Especially when KU started to dominate your ass, so don't start saying our meltdowns are funny when you live in a glass house.

Baseball is a pretty big deal to Shocker fans BSCat. That usually happens to a fan base that wins a National Championship and is dominant for 30 years (not that a K-State fan would know anything about that).
I understand why baseball might not be a "big deal" to you, but apparently it is to a lot of your fans. Record crowd at your ballpark last night to see your team beat WSU. Nice to see some baseball fans up there.
Unapologetic cat fan here, but I root for all 3 d1s in our state. All 3 have Wichita area kids on their rosters. I also root for the Kansas d2's and jucos, because many friends and teammates of my sons play there, so I feel I am pretty objective.
It is important that WSU turn this around, because right now, history is the best thing they have, but right now they are manufacturing history that will be recalled 10-20 years from now. Although I am a Cat fan first, I would hate for WSU's history 10 years from now to be constant repeats of what we are seeing now.
GS is often very critical of his team in the media, yet I don't see many changes being made. Forget righty lefty matchups, radar guns, and stop watches, put the players who create results on the field. Would you platoon a Pujols, not recruit him because of his 60 time, or lack of arm strength? Play your players, and bench the guys who don't play. Won't know who they are unless you give them a chance.
Two things I read in the box score this morning were the only two things about the game that came close to reminding me which team had the better baseball program:
1. K-State set an attendance record against WSU -- not a Big 12 team
2. That record was roughly half of the record of fans to attend a game at Eck Stadium

I should've known that you were an expert in medications.
Your obsession with this site is cute. You might wanna try some of those penis-enhancing supplements.
College baseball is a big deal to you when Kitten State is doing good. You have a bandwagonish nature to yourself. Then again, 90% of Kitten State fans are bandwagon. It was always fun listening to the Kitten fans who went to Koch (Levitt) during basketball season and asking Shocker fans what the names were of the players in purple. They had no clue. They were Snyder bandies that came just for show. That was it. Truly hilarious! Only fanbase I've ever seen like it. Same goes with baseball at the Eck. LOL!
It was and will always be a blessing for you to be in that conference. It was simply dumb luck. An agricultural school in the middle of nowhere got tossed into the mix and was constantly being pulled up by its other conference institutions. Kitten State does nothing for their conference. Nothing. They fluke up in a sport every 5-10 years or so but quickly fall back into obscurity. That is why the fanbase is so bandwagon.
Remember, penis-enhancing supplements.

Nothing has changed. Tuesday night a number of the Kstate home fans didn't know their own players names or know a thing about any of them.
I understand that Shockerfans take NCAA baseball seriously. I don't understand the animosity to KSU.
I love the blanket statement that "90% of Kitten State fans are bandwagon". Better yet, your "proof" are the people you spoke to at a game? I guess I must be an introvert, because when I go to a game I just don't visit with enough strangers to pass judgment on a fan base as big as KSU's.
Personally, I think Shocker fan gave up the right to call Cat fans bandwagon, when you all cancelled football. Both programs struggled with mediocrity and losing money. WSU pulled the plug, fans baled off. KSU buckled down, turned it around, and enjoyed the Decade of Dominance. Which fans are bandwagon?
Sorry, many of us don't know all the players on our baseball team. We spend most of our time learning about our football team, and of course basketball. But hey, I'm sure every one of you can rattle off the names of your men's tennis team!
Now, I know your team isn't doing well, and everyone is mad. (posting about hopping off the bandwagon?) But do you really need to insult KSU?

what does football have to with any of this? Plus doesn't KSU football suck again?
Shockkansas: I don't think it is that anyone "hates" K-State. It's just that K-State is sort of the welfare recipient of the Big 8 and Big XII. As noted earlier, no school around this area has done less with more than K-State, while no school around this area has done more with less than WSU.
I think it is simply more a lack of overall respect directed towards K-State in general. It stings as much losing to a Wildcat team in baseball as it does losing to some lower tier MoVal teams. It just shouldn't happen - - in any year.
K-State winning four straight against WSU is a huge success for K-State, just as it would be for K-State to win 4 straight against KU in basketball. It still doesn't, nor shall it, change the fact of who has the better program in baseball or basketball.

I don't have any animosity to Kstate. I have been to a few Kstate football and basketball games over the years. The last kstate football game I went to was a couple of years ago at UNL. My favorite Kstate football game was in 1985 at Manhattan. I was sitting at midfield as the Shockers dominated the Wildcats (the last time the two teams played).
I was just stating that every time we play Kstate in baseball their own fans don't know anything about their own team. Last night, as usual, some of the Kstate fans end up asking me questions about their own team because I always seem to know more about their baseball team than they do.
And you seem to admit that many Kstate fans don't know much about your baseball team in your post on this board. And I would expect Shocker fans who actually attend WSU tennis matches to know our players names.
Again I was just stating my experiences with Kstate fans at Kstate baseball games. No animosity at all. I do have several family members who live in NE Kansas that are big Kstate fans and I have an uncle who played basketball at Kstate.

You don't take baseball that seriously, obviously by you visiting a Shocker baseball board. Nicely done.
We can insult Kitten State whenever we so choose to. Why? Because this isn't a Kitten board. Sorry.
You have also not seen the many slight remarks your friend BCSBrat has made over the course of his long and obsessive history on this site. KNOW YOUR PLACE.
By the way, are you from Goddard too? Is BCSBrat a friend or perhaps a spouse of yours? Pretty coincidental that another Kitty fan shows up on a WSU baseball board within hours of the Brat getting his lunch tossed.
Kitten State = Bandwagon University. The truth hurts.

Haha, sorry to stir the pot. Obviously, I'm not going to get any rational discussion from such a disgruntled fan base. I'll stay away until April 20th. I'll stop by to mention the sweep, or congratulate you all.
Just remember, the orchestrator of the demise of Shocker football made $4.4 million last year at KU. Some of that money sure could have helped some students. Whether it was "state funds" or not it was "KU" and "board of regents" money.
Be nice SF... Goddard is a perfect place for K-Staters. What with the near-complete lack of trees, vacant farmland, Dollar General store, and houses with all the architectural significance of a double wide, it all feels like home to them.
