In the 3rd, Smith gave up a leadoff single and steal, then K'd the next two and got a groundout.

Nice that it takes a bad call to break the streak.

Is the reason why we are stinking on offense is because the ND pitcher is a guy who throws a low 80's fastball with even slower off-speed stuff? These types of pitchers always give our guys fits.

4 runs in 5 innings isn't 'stinking' necessarily... we scored 40 runs last weekend against guys who didn't light up the radar gun.

That's our story and we're sticking with it!

It also could be because it's game 4 of a 50+ game season. Surely, you're not expecting 14 rpg from this team, are you?

I should also mention the game is just now passing through the halfway point.

I have to lean toward KC's thoughts here. 2 ER on 4 hits in 5 innings isn't very good. Add to that 5 Ks and just one walk.

Let's just call it a let down after the stellar weekend.

Is 8 runs in 6 innings better for the Debbie Downers? Or is that still not enough?

At the time, the offensive production was what it was. It was a mid-game observation and nothing more. And at the time, it wasn't very good. Glad to see them mashing it better this inning!
