This is going to look great with Johnny Coy on the hot corner.

field is looking mighty nice. Is the emblems on the field - raised portions? Or is that a optical allusion?

I noticed that too - maybe they come back in and cut the green turf to fit it in?

This is obviously a HUGE upgrade to what we had. With a towering new practice facility coming up in the distance, the Eck is actually starting to look like a completely different place.

                Definitely saaweeet. :good:

I would think they have to, other wise somebody is tearing something in thier ankle on a foul ball. At least you would think something like that would happen eventually.

Just watched them unroll what I assume to be the color of what will be on the basepaths. Still pretty dark. What was the reason they didn't want it to be "dirt" colored again?

Edit: Actually they are putting it on the perimeter (or at least I think they are). Is this also going to be the basepath color?

I don't think so, as this was what we saw last week on the basepaths. I don't really mind it as a "trim" color though. I am presuming that the warning track will feel different under the feet, though, otherwise it doesn't serve its purpose.

If you enlarge the photo you can see wrinkles in the logo turf so I think it's just laying on top right now and they'll cut out the green portion later.

Some of the experts probably know better, but wouldn't WU be better situated behind home plate? Will it be distracting to the center fielder? Having WU in center field seems a little odd to me. Can you see it easily from the stands or do you need to be at the top of the stadium or in a blimp? Does look pretty awesome though...

I could see it being difficult for a center fielder to track a ground ball or bouncing line drive as it moves across Wu.

                              Certainly a realistic possibility.

Wu being as large as it is and where it is has at least the benefit of being seen in virtually every play when televised. The old Wu, and where it was, could be covered over by a mvc or ncaa logo banner or could be hidden by using certain camera angles. Lets see them cover Wu up now.
