I think I had a better angle on my 60" plasma than you did on the first base line, his balls and strikes were good and the call at the plate was really really close, probably would need 4 or 5 different angles to be sure on that one, the ball beat him he made a swipe, hard to tell if he got Chance but blue was all over it 5 feet away so I'd say he probably saw it.

I'm feeling great, but you know I can't tolerate that kind of innaccuracy, cracks me up though that he thinks its a good deal to get matched up with a pitcher who is up for national pitcher of the year honors, heck if ksu doesn't get a regional maybe we can go against that san diego st. kid that blows 100mph. that would be good too.
Not even one "Go Shox" or one acknowledgment that the team pulled off a great win and championship. Just thought it was weird that the only posting you've done has been in the KSU-defensive, easily-perturbed mode. I think everyone that has posted tonight has said at least one thing positive about the win, even the more notoriously negative ones... well everyone but you.

        Oh well.

My bad, I guess I thought that stuff had been said, It was a good win and one that will help cushion a really hard long grind for these guys and allow them to finish on a positive and build some momentum for next year, Early in the year when it first became evident that we had some issues and people around here were pretty despondant, I predicted that the shocks would win the conf. or the conf. tourney or both. so i'm really not that surprised by tonight, its like I said along time ago, the worst shocker team in the last 20 or 30 years is still the best team in the valley.

There are two different projections that have K-State hosting. The permanent capacity has no bearing - they can bring in temporary seating to meet the NCAA requirements.

McGuire was bad. You need a new 60" plasma tv.

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

Not sure I agree with that. Even with temp bleachers they will have one of the smallest venues. But I don't think there's any doubt WSU just elevated KSU's chances of hosting. Too bad we can't host as #4 seed matched up against KSU in the opening round at the Eck.

Anybody else heard anything about that? I can see a few that probably don't deserve to be here, but I don't know about 10
That doesn't sound right at all. That would be totally out of character for Gene Stephenson. Admittedly my memory isn't the best, but has there ever been more than three players not invited back from one season to the next? I remember a few years ago we purged a few players who had suffered injuries, who had not recovered, and did not look like they ever would recover, but even in those cases we carried those guys on the roster for at least a season after their injuries. A few of those names that come to mind: Matthew Jakubov, Adam Bengtson, and another guy who's name slips my mind, who went by the nickname "Moose."

Ironically the guy I found myself wishing, early this season, would not come back next year was Ryan Engrav. I don't feel that way any more. Shane Dennis told me once that at WSU, no player was every completely buried. There are no better examples of that than Ryan Engrav and Remington Johnson, as neither guy was on the radar coming into the season. Where would we be without those two guys? Not playing next weekend.

I can't even begin to come up with 10 names of players who wouldn't be invited back. TWO, maybe.

Looking at last year regional - it doesn't seem like venue size was a driver:

                    Michigan - 4000
                    UNC - 4100
                    Coastal Carolina - 900
                    Miami - 3000
                    Arz State - 4600
LBS - 3000 (only drew 1800 in their regional games)
                    FSU - 6700
                    OSU - 4000
                    CSF - 3500
                    Stanford - 4000
                    NC State - 2500 to 3000
                    Georgia - 3300
                    Texas A&M - 7600

Baseball America updated their hosting predictions today here. They don't say who would go where, just who would host. Hosting sites predicated are:
                        • ACC (4): North Carolina, Florida State, Clemson, Georgia Tech
SEC (4): Louisiana State, Florida, Mississippi, South Carolina
                          Big 12 (2): Texas, Oklahoma
Big West (2): UC Irvine, Cal State Fullerton
                          CUSA: (1): Rice
                          Pac-10 (1): Arizona State
                          Big East (1): Louisville
                          MWC (1): Texas Christian

Just curious.. but why would you think that?..

We're gonna be centrally located as possible.

I hope K-State does get to host. They can use some of that $8.21m Big XII "Coat-Tail Hangin'" money and rent some portable bleachers.
It'd be great for the Shox to get to play so close to home.

I would say K-State with 16 road games.

That is a lot of home cooking.
Let's hope he can hit a D-1 Curve ball!
