Forgive me wu, but who the heck is Amanda Moore? And we all agree the McGuire was terrible behind the plate tonight
Volleyball player.
ADDED: Sorry - I missed the replies. BTW: Sara Lundgren was at one of the tourney games. Jada Witham oftem comes to baseball games (but I didn't see her this weekend).
Some posts are not visible to me. :peaceful: Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.
 :yahoo: :wsu_posters: Didnt get to go to any of the game this weekend unfortunate, had a long trip to florida and back. But we ended up being in listening area right when the game started tonight, and that is about as nervous as i have been in a while. I think i am proud of this team almost more than any shocker team in memory. No maybe they arent the most talented and dealt with alot of adversity. But they had heart and fought back, and now are the MVC Champs once again!!! :wsu_posters:  :yahoo:
Looks like when coach made the change of inserting Bascue, Engrav, and Sossamon in the line up something happened for the better. I am PROUD of this team. Go Shockers.
First a Baseball fan then a Volleyball fan and then I guess I follow the basketball team.
I didn't say McGuire was terrible.....I said he didn't have a great game. I promise you, your 60' plasma aside, my unimpeded view of the plate allows for a fantastic vantage point on high/low calls. What was a strike varied more than once....more than 10 times....and it was inconsistent for both teams. The CU pitchers got jobbed too....both teams bulldoged it too much to combine for nearly 20 walks. I have no problem with the bang/bang play at the plate....it was a tough call, and I am not saying he missed it from my seat, but he did on the replay. He wasn't terrible, but in a big game, he didn't have a great one.....that's all I'm saying William...you should realize that other people know a thing or 2 about the game...you don't have a monopoly on that.
haysdb....it's great to see you. This is a season your input was missed, a lot. Hope everything is going well for you.
Is there anyone out there that happened to tape the audio broadcast? It appears that the archive will not be available. For what it's worth, I would gladly pay for it now and in the future. It is a great service and if $s make it more viable, then I am happy to pay to help make sure things like last night don't happen any more.
It just occurred to me that if Lee Ridenhour had joined the declining Shockers instead of his team of the future up northeast, he wouldn't have to be wondering whether an 0-3 floperoo in his conference tournament ended his season, as it probably did -- he'd be looking forward to regional play, just wondering where.
Gee. what a shame.
If this is true (that KU misses the regional), then my dream for this season would be that WSU be in the same regional with KSU and we beat them this time.
;-)
Whatever you ask for in prayer with faith, you will receive. (Mt 21:22)
My only complaint of the Jay fans that were at the game last night was the lady with the constant whistling using a cone to try and direct the sound towards our pitcher or our batters. If the sound directed at the players was much louder than what I was hearing then maybe it was effective. I wondered how people in front of her could stand it and also think if it was distracting to WSU pitchers or batters then it would also be to the CU players. Maybe it was effecting the home plate umpire.
nail biter of a game. I wasn't able to make the game so caught it on TV. A few thoughts:
* Holthus is a solid play by play guy and the color guy was really good as well. He had great insight on some of Lowell's mechanics and general game situation / strategy.
* Although we gave up way too many walks, I thought the WSU arms really responded in pressure situations - we turned several dp and some key strikeouts.
* Baez scares me every time he throws to first.
* the looks on the coaches faces post game were really cool - very emotional.
* bottom of the order continues to be very productive.
* Let's hope Kelly rebounds from a tough outing.
