  • Shocker Hitting

The shockers hitting is horrible. How does their hitting coach keep his job. There are players on the shockers roster that have been in the program for 3 years and still are under achieving. Whos fault is that. If you cant not make a player out of someone being in your program for 3 years. It is a coaching problem. Why cant the shockers get a hitting coach known for hitting like they have a pitching coach known for pitching?

If I'm not mistaken, the 1998 team that led the nation in runs scored per game had the same hitting coach as this year's team.

Last year we had one guy hit .419 (Gillaspie) and another .388 (Dirks). Should we not give some credit for their achievements to our hitting coach?

Maybe we aren't getting the same athletes as we did in 1998..

Bingo! Sure, we get 1 to 3 players in our lineup year-in and year-out that go for .350 plus, but from top to bottom, our hitting has not been the greatest in the past decade.

Yeah because hitting is about athleticism... Wait NO it's not. Look, this weekend is an abomination. I don't think it will happen again. Our hitting will be fine. Its baseball folks. This happens. I think the shox have had a much better approach at the plate today. Now our base running and fielding today have been atrocious. TCU has executed to perfection from the plate. Do the shox need to get better... Hell yes they do. Will they get better... Hell yes they will. No need to worry. Its early in the season and the coaches will get it worked out. Nothing wrong with JT. He can't hit for the kids. If you want to put blame on anyone for poor hitting this weekend put it on the hitters at the plate NOT on the coaching!!!

Ok, if it doesn't take athletic ability to hit, I'm gonna go try out for the team.

Me too. I didn't realize hitting a baseball takes outstanding eye/hand coordination, muscle dexterity, flexibility, timing, and strength. My bad.

Hell, while I'm at it, I'm going to try out for the Chiefs and fight for the QB position. Maybe the QB coach can teach me how to throw a football 70 yards.

Sorry my bad. Hitting .285 as a team. It takes athletes. You mean the ones that they the coaching staff recruited. You think JT deserves credit for players like Gilespie. Ya right. Were just lucky he didnt screw them up.

.391 slugging tells me alot about this team so far.I hope they have some weights for these boys to lift. :D But then again 5.25 era isn't all that great.TCU is a VERY good team.WSU will be a much tougher team come May.These next few weeks we may take a beating but I have faith we will be better for it in the following weeks. This team will test all of our patience that's for sure.

Yeah the same kids our coaches recruited along with the likes of ASU, OSU, ARK, NEB, MIZ, OU, etc... I'm sure none of them know what the hell they are doing. Clearly those staffs are terrible and are responsible for really awful programs. The invite only Area-Code games most these kids have played in... Yeah those folks that evaluated the talent and sent invites out... you guessed it, clearly don't know talent either. Yeah right.

Nobody ever said anything about JT wanting to take credit for Gillespie. JT I don't think would take credit for any players growth or talent. JT has molded many players through the years and certainly wouldn't toot his own horn for it because hes better than that. Saying we are lucky JT didn't screw anyone up is about the biggest bunch of BS I have ever heard.

I really hope your just in a foul place do to our poor performance this weekend saying crap like that. If that's not why you are spouting that kind of crap then you sir are just a total moron with a piss poor attitude. You just want to stir **** up and be a prack... Fine, I can't keep you from doing that on a message board. You just make yourself look like a total idiot when you do so.

I'm so sick of all you douches that come on here and want to throw someone under the bus. Your just bad fans is really all it boils down to. No appreciation for what you have in a program and staff like WSUs. It really is a shame your not as critical of yourself as you are some of the best in the college game. That is after all why they are where they are... because they are some of the best. Meanwhile your just another blabbering idiot on a message board that hopes to prop yourself up just because your team tanked it this weekend. I'm glad our coaching staff isn't as whiny as some of you. They handle themselves like grown freaking adults.

I've got a question. How come JT and Gene and the baseball program in general never get the same "pass" that the basketball program and HCGM get? When the basketball team started 0-6 in the conference, it seemed to be I can't wait until next year, and never that any of the assistance don't know how to coach kids on how to shoot a jump shot or a fade away jumper, but JT can't coach hitting? Come on the baseball program deserves a little lee way doesn't it? I mean it might be a down year compared to what we are used to, but we still have a great staff, with good kids, that I think will be a special team in the near future and there is still a lot of season left for this year, I mean we were swept at Long Beach last year and still managed a damn fine season. I'm not saying we are going to a Super Regional again this year, hell there is an outside chance we don't make a regional at all this year, but if not I see it as a blip on the radar and not the standard. Just my two cents. For what it is worth, I also think that most everyone that posts on here are fans of the team, whether there posts are all positive or have negativity to them.
