I don't recall there being any bad blood between the two teams. Only bad blood I have seen now is between whatever team Brownlee coaches for and WSU (but that is more at the coaches level than player).

I believe the incident your referring to happened was at Indiana St in '98. The dugout there has opening and drunk student were coming up spitting, throwing beer and hurling racial stuff at the players and Casey Davis. Casey Davis got tired of it and decided to go talk to a couple students.
Thanks for the information. However I do think there was some bad blood between UE and WSU in the 1990s. I'll ask Mike next time I see him.

No, he was not suspended for the season
                .

                Really? Says who?

He was suspended for the remaining 14 games of the season and for any post season games involving Evanstan. You can't change what happened because you just don't like it.

Friday by the Missouri Valley Conference. Pitching coach Brent Kemnitz also was suspended from game day participation for the remainder of the season... reasons the pitching coach was included in the suspension, Kemnitz reportedly teaches his pitchers to brush back on-deck batters ...

Ah come on, you know that billybud being the troll that he is doesn't want to address recent history but wants to keep harping on this one incident. A player was 25 ft. closer to home than he should have been trying to time BC's pitches. The ump should have made him move back to the on-deck circle and didn't. BC then committed a very boneheaded play, but Molina should have been aware of where he was and been aware of a pitch coming towards him. There were many people that had they been doing their jobs that could have prevented what happen that day.

What Holt did is just as excusable if not more so. If his kick had the desired result Tyler Weber would have been walking for the rest of his life with a limp. What a class act from a class program.

I lived many years down in Florida and was a fan of FSU football for many years. One of my nieces even recieved a degree from FSU and was a cheerleader there. Holt's actions have forever changed my perceptions of that University and I will now find a new school to root for in football. I will root against FSU in all sports because of Holt and 11.

                        Hey Troll,

Riddle me this if he was suspended for the season then he why would he be back in the dugout that season - which he was. In fact when he came back from his suspension that season, he got a huge standing ovation. The MVC actually infringed on Kemnitz civil liberties and lawyers had to step in and tell the MVC to cease and desist or they would face a lawsuit. Needless to say, the MVC back down quickly.

                        Try again troll.

                        • Does it seem hypocritical for a Florida State Seminole fan to be fascinated with to the point of obsession about an incident that happened 9 years ago?

Why is this guy still here?

The answer is he's bored and what's to get a rise out of everybody because that's the only rise he can get.

Pretty pathetic.. :( Almost makes me wanna bring up the 100's of things the perfect little Florida State University hasn't done nice. .

                          • Zardoz,
Your last post puzzles me a bit. I'm kind of nuetral on the BC incident, although Molina getting hit is in NO WAY his fault. However, you state your perception of FSU sports is forever changed over the Holt slide, and yet you equate that slide and the BC pitch as equal. So here is my question: Why are you still a Shock fan if one dirty play can sway you so?

Back to the topic that started this. Our recruiting is not as good since the late 90's because, quite frankly, we are not recruiting as well. We lose high profile guys to the draft that only sign here as a safety net, and don't recruit guys who could be just as effective, and then they are not available when the big names don't show up.

                            • I'm getting bored with this BC discussion. It has been a long time and "nobody" cares. (Did you notice that Conor Gillaspie, Aaron Shafer, Anthony Capra, Damon Sublett, Mike Pelfrey and many more good players signed with and played for the Shocks since the BC incident? Did you notice that WSU hosted a regional and super regional last year?)

Does your analysis apply to Logan Watkins?
