I understand FSU played over 40 games at home this year. Sure they have good hitters, but when you play most of your games in a small park, it is easy to see how they can get inflated offensive numbers. I watched their games at the CWS and I really believe Rosenblatt, with its more normal dimensions, ate them up. Those long fly balls are no longer homers and extra base hits, they are outs. Rosenblatt plays really well to teams that play more of the "small ball" type of game.

The 'Canes tried to give it to them in the 9th, but I guess they didn't want it. I don't believe there were any errors by the 'Noles; the 'Canes had at least 2. Errors weren't FSU's undoing this time, not when they strand 17 runners. Ouch! I thought our LOBs were bad."She is only HALF a mother who does not see HER child in EVERY child." - Anonymous

I got a big laugh out of this comment:
I'm not sure why you felt the need to bring your input into this. I know how much you enjoy trolling on this message board, I can't say I blame you since we actually have a baseball fan base.
BC has about the same tradition in baseball as FSU does in hockey. Let me know when you move out of your little league field.
I think little league teams would object to the weird fences and short right field that FSU has. Some posts are not visible to me. :peaceful:
Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

Everyone bow in awe for FSU "packing their house" for a chance at Omaha, in an ESPN televised regional, in less numbers than we pull for freaking KU in the regular season.

CWS Record Set by FSU..alas
Alas...FSU had 18 hits in the Miami game (23 men on base)...set a CWS record for stranded runners with 18. Sometimes it happens, you hit well against a very good team but you do not put the hits in an order that scores a bunch.
Re the baseball crowd at FSU...not bad for a football school that packs in 80,000 plus a game..and, FSU did put more in the stands than did WSU for the year 2007 (according to the chart posted on another thread).
not big, but loud, and well known....folks know about the Animals of Section B...they have become a part of baseball lore somewhat akin to the Cameron Crazies of Duke in basketball.

I also prefer the white home uni's with Wichita St across in script. Can we get that in black as well?
The Stanford unis are the sharpest in baseball right now. Would love to see Arkansas wearing this throwback...

"Tell us, how many games did FSU play at the "Home of the Trailer Park Chainlink Monster" when the temp was below 50?"
LOL...you want it both ways? WSU folks both complain about playing in the heat of Tallahassee and then whine that FSU may not play in the cold enough. Heat, cold...the good teams play and win their share...
Looking for excuses for not making the CWS (like local weather, elevation above sea level, etc.) is not becoming.
First it was "FSU plays in a "little league ballpark". Whoops! That gets debunked. Turns out that Tyler field may be smaller. Is shorter in left and center.
I don't throw out excuses for why FSU doesn't win enough at Omaha. They don't win because the other guy is hitting better or pitching better.
Teams win because they have pitching and they hit the ball...teams lose because they don't have pitching and don't hit the ball (and yep, sometimes it's a day to day thing)
