          • Hilliard is back up and doing what he does.

“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'

            • Maybe Bohm, Hilliard and Heuer will toss some money towards the baseball complex.

Perhaps, but we have options right in front of us that we need to explore.

                      Check my math, but:

1st 22 years: 18 NCAA post seasons and 7 College World Series = 16 Major League players

2nd 22 years: 10 NCAA post seasons and 0 CWS = 25 Major League Players

Granted, a few players were during both and more MLB teams during the 2nd group, but still surprised by those MLP player numbers.

OK. Thanks. Even more so now. Any opinion on why the more than 50% increase MLB players? Gene was still involved in 14 of those years. No CWS and fewer 1st place finishes (in the Valley and now AAC). Sorry for the analogy, but it seems we could still hit the HR, but not hit for average. It would appear to me that, for Gene's years anyway, that his name (and BK) connected for some high-quality players, but the assumption by some here was correct on not beating enough bushes to fill the roster with better overall quality of players (who were not necessarily MLB level).

                            • This is at least semi-topical. Not a Shocker in the pros, but a former Shocker player who is now professionally coaching.

Mitch Mormann is the new pitching coach at Creighton. Wondering what Shocker fans remember him for, if anything?

Omaha, Neb. -- Bluejay Baseball head coach Ed Servais completed his 2022 staff as Mitch Mormann joined Creighton from Ohio University this January.
