Oh, what the heck; thought this might be posted somewhere by now. Probably worthy of a separate thread if it comes to fruition.

The Wichita Business Journal has an afternoon on-line addition; I’m not going to post the entire article here; posting ‘premium content’ is frowned upon. Here’s a couple of excerpts… only “proposed” at this point, but does sound exciting and beneficial to WSU. Especially if the first week of the NBC is held annually at Eck Stadium.
Wichita's baseball future taking shape

“Meanwhile, the future of baseball in the city while it builds a new $60 million ballpark is coming into clearer focus, with the proposed utilization of Eck Stadium/Tyler Field at Wichita State University for part of the National Baseball Congress World Series, including the entire 2019 World Series.”
“The entire 2019 NBC World Series would be played at Wichita State, and the first week of the tournament thereafter, the mayor said, with Championship Week shifting to the new ballpark. The change would accommodate the new minor league team, which won't vacate the new ballpark for two weeks for the entire NBC tournament, Longwell said.”
“"The Wichita State people say they're thrilled to have something going on up there this time of year," Longwell said. "It's a beautiful facility, and the tournament will be a perfect fit with the hotels, restaurants and what have you that are being built at the Innovation Campus."”
