The call at home plate was a tough call, yes, on replay, you can clearly tell there was no tag, but they don't have the advantage of replay like we do. Things happen so fast you have to make a quick decision, those bang bangers are tough to call. you win some, you lose some. And Shocker fans definitely shouldn't be complaing about bang bang plays, especially after that gift of an over rule we got against UC Irvine at first base in the super regionals.

I was at the game, sitting in the stands. I have not seen the instant replay and I could see that there was no tag.

I don't see why the ump didn't see it.

This was an exciting win. And while it was fun, I could take a few boring wins.

On a side note. K-state gave away free tee shirts in the fifth inning. About half of their crowd got up, got their free t shirts and then left the game.

I guess they aren't really baseball fans, just free t-shirt fans.

So we can never complain again since we got the benefit of one call last season?

Perhaps Wagers should have moved up by you to call the game. He is a fine umpire, who had no stake in the game. An overview from the stands is a different sight line than a view from the field.

Either way, a win is a win, let's not lower our standards of conduct by being whiney winners. Leave that for the Bradley coach.[/quote]

Two great defensive plays by Gillespie and Brown to close things out. You won’t find a more well played bare-handed throw from CG.

Nannie was nails…perhaps time to give him the keys for closing.

For the most part the ump called the wide strike zone consistently and certain hitters refused to adjust…Dennis and Kerbs agreed.

Khol was awesome, those were two great plays and how about the pick by THill at first on Gillespie's play. Brown really stepped up that could have easily eaten him up as hard as it was hit and he took his time and made a perfect toss to Dusty to start the DP, big time play by the freshman.

Good thing they can do that, because those guys can't hit at all.

All I care about is the W. (But Tyler Hill was safe and it wasn't close. Get yourself in position to make the right call.)

I came home last night to a sweet surprise, as I was planning to listen to the game over the Internet, I flipped on the tube and found the Shox.

                        It certainly made my night.

Hell, it was even hard to tell on the replay... damn, we're an interesting bunch of yo-yo's.

Too bad it doesn't always copy over to the fans.
I guess I'm not as gifted as you in thinking we won the game with the bases loaded, with 1 out, and up 1.

                            Crucify me now already.
It ain't over till its over. A fan keeps the hope of the win alive, even with bases loaded, one out and being one up.

Even after Harvard scores 8 on us.

                            You get the idea.

I liked you more when you kept your trolling to Basketball.

All you have to do is watch the game on TV and see how outside those pitches were. On top of that, he was not consistent with those outside pitches being strikes.

And to blow a play at the plate takes a special kind of ump, it really does.

Finally, get out of here with your "oh we can't complain because we got a good call" (in a game we lost) crap. I guess we can't ever complain if a pitcher throws at one of our heads then too? You disgust me and I now disgust myself that I took the time to reply to you. My only solace comes in known I did it so that others who may not realize what you are doing may see the light.

Did you see the final replay on the game? That is about as clear as you can get and is basically the same angle the ump had. He never even tagged tyler. Hell, even my wife could see that on the second replay.
