As Shane & ??? have said the fact the Ace saver is pitching, is at least a moral victory. A dinger and it's a tie game. 11-7 Salukies.

Can we fire him on the spot for allowing Bohm to swing 3-0?

Swinging at a 3-0 pitch? LOL.

Shocks looked to be in control early. SIU had rallied to tie it at 5 when I had to tend to other things. Wow, things must have gotten kind of out of control after that.

I can live with giving Alec Bohm the green light on 3-0 in that situation. Who on the Shocker team has a better chance to tie the game in that situation especially with the wind blowing out to left. That is the count he is most likely to get a center cut fastball that he could drive. The fact that all he could do with a 3-0 pitch is foul out to the 1B is disappointing but that doesn't necessarily mean it was a terrible decision IMHO. Alec needs to be disciplined enough to lay off anything that wasn't right in his wheelhouse. He did get a center cut fastball although it was at his knees.

You give up 11 runs you simply are not going to win many games. The fact that this Shocker team still had a chance in a game where they gave up 11 runs is not exactly a normal occurrence this year.

The Shocker pitching staff has to wear this one don't they? Hopefully, this will prove to be just one of those days for the pitching staff.

Looks like MSU and DBU had a similar kind a day today with MSU jumping out to an early lead. However, the Bears managed to hold on for the win while the Shocks were unable to.

Missouri State built an eight-run lead behind a season-high four home runs, then held off a late Dallas Baptist rally to secure its second Missouri Valley Conference series of the season with an 11-8 decision over the Patriots Saturday afternoon at Hammons Field.

MSU goes for the sweep over DBU tomorrow.

Nate Robertson summed up today's game very well. "That was just a tough baseball game to watch."

                        SIU Game Three

Cody Tyler with the start for the Shocks and Joey Mariano for the Salukis.

I guess it is anybody's guess what we will get from the Shocks today.

Fumbling, bumbling, stumbling start for the Shocks with 3 quick error producing a run for SIU.

Good job on by Cody Tyler limiting the damage to the 1 unearned run.

Alec Bohm followed a Travis Young walk with a Bohmb to center field to put the Shocks up 2-0.

The pitch he hit out today was in about the same location as the one he popped up on a 3-0 count last night to end the game.

SIU ties it at 2-2 in the top of the 2nd with lead off double, ground out to 1B to advance the runner to 3rd and a Sac Fly to CfF.

Shockers blowing it open in the bottom of the 3rd, 7 runs in so far and runners are on 1st and 2nd with Schwanke up. 9-2 WSU.
