The Willie Schwanke experiment at DH is working out well so far. Shocker bat warming up with the weather?

Let's hope so. It is nice to see Bohm providing some much needed power this weekend.

Next 5 are @ KU, @ Bradley x3, and KU again in Wichita. Plenty of opportunity to keep swinging a hot stick before the trip to Springfield in a few weeks.

Shocks leading 16-4 in the bottom of the 5th as SIU has achieved keystone cops level proficiency.

Boy I thought the Shocks could play some ugly baseball but SIU is taking the definition of ugly baseball to a whole new level.

Would Dayton Dugas make the Friends team?
              Deuces Valley.
              ... No really, deuces.

Shocks haven't exactly been stellar today with 5 errors.

However, Trey Vickers and Alex Jackson flashing some leather in the 6th and 7th innings.

IIRC there were some questions from the MLB scouts about Dayton's vision and how well he sees and tracks the ball. Maybe there was something to those concerns.

Shocks get the run-rule 17-7 in a wacky game. Hopefully the offense can continue to build on this weekend's efforts.

Mercifully this games ends on the Mercy rule. I'll bet Nate Robertson is glad he didn't have to set through this one despite an easy Shocker win.

Gonna miss having the SIU punching bag around to always help us feel good about ourselves. Deuces Uglies.

Generally, you are going to win when you get 13 hits, 10 walks, 5 hit batters and 3 errors in 6.1 innings.

Kind of disappointed the Shock weren't able to take advantage of their good start yesterday but they got the minimum they needed with the 2-1 series win.

Did anybody else catch Kennedy and Shane talk about going to the AAC and say something to the effect of "who else might the MVC lose?" And then go on to talk about that ISUR is rumored to be looking to leave.

I don't think it's a big secret that both UNI and ILS would perhaps like to join the MAC. Missouri State would like to move to the Sun Belt.

But as we know the targets of your desire have to be interested in you as well. With the financial situation facing all these schools not sure how anxious their administrations are to have to try to step up their games.
