Evansville’s competition is pretty suspect but they have some decent numbers.
Evansville is hitting .292 as a team with 6 starters hitting over .300. The Aces are led by Jr 2B Trey Hair who is hitting .408 with 4 HR, 13 2b, 22 RBIs and 22 runs scored. Jeff Christen (Jr OF from St. Mary’s, KS) is hitting .343 and Senior OF Jonathan Ramon hitting .315 with 7 HR, 2 3b, 4 2b, 25 RBIs. While Sr catcher Boomer Synek is hitting .312 and leads the team with 28 RBIs also adding 3 HR, 1 3b, and 6 2b.
As a team the Aces have 27 HRs, 6 3b, 62 2b and have scored 192 runs in 27 games while striking out 190 times. By comparison the Shocks have 19 HRs, 5 3b, 61 2b and have scored 180 runs in 29 games while striking out 237 times. On the mound we will likely see:
Code:w-l era ip h r er bb so oba Connor Strain Sr RHP 3-1 0.68 26.1 16 5 2 6 26 .180 Patrick Schnieders Jr RHP 3-1 2.27 39.2 35 14 10 17 29 .240
Code:w-l era ip h r er bb so oba Ryan Brady So RHP 0-1 1.53 17.2 13 3 3 5 10 .213 Brian Jestice Jr RHP 1-0 2.70 16.2 18 7 5 7 11 .269
In fielding the Aces have a slight edge at .971 with 31 errors in 27 games to the Shocks .969 with 34 errors in 29 games. Jonathan Ramon seems to be a defensive liability in the OF fielding with just a .885 fielding percentage.Last edited by shockfan89_; April 8, 2016, 01:47 PM.

I just noticed both WSU and Evansville websites have Schnieders starting tonight and no mention of Strain in the weekend rotation. It appears Strain has forearm tightness and will sit this weekend out. Big break for the Shocks as Strain is working on a streak of 23 scoreless innings and has only given up 16 hits in 26.1 innings pitched this season!

Shocks playing small ball plus benefited greatly with 3 walks to put 2 runs on the board in the top of the 1st. Troutwine's infield single was the Shocks only hit. The Evansville starter threw 37 pitches in the 1st inning.
Evansville leadoff batter reached 2nd on a single and an OF error by Dugas. Then the Shocks turned a 1-6-5-3 double play which save them a run as the next man doubled but Willie was able to get the next guy to finish off a scoreless half inning for Evansville.
