I vote for a bases loaded intentional walk to put us out of our misery.

Edit: That would have been better than ending it on an unintentional wild pitch like we did.

Yesterday after the loss Mike and Shane acted like that is just baseball, there will be days like that. It seems more like winning Friday was a fluke and it was just an off day for Evansville. At least we didn't get swept but 13-8 is looking like a difficult task right about now.

These last two games were absolutely pathetic.

On a positive note the Royals are playing well

That is real positive and they will be playing into June, unlike the Shockers.

I will admit I am dumb. But how dumb are the advertisers who pay money to keep the broadcasts coming. Dumb and Dumber for sure.

Are you assuming we are playing now?

FYI Evansville was picked to finish 7th in the MVC and has the lowest RPI of any conference opponent except for ISU (red). I know it was a road series but on paper the opposition isn't going to get any easier than this weekend.

And now you understand why Friday night still felt like a loss. Another out-of-this-world prediction that WSU blew the next two to lose the series. And they did it in blowout fashion.

With the fan apathy, combing with the historically bad product put on out on the field, the WSU administration has no choice but to cut the head off the snake at the end of the year. If they don't, they'd be making a precedent. A really BAD precedent.

                      ... No really, deuces.

Too late IMHO. ADES and whoever else was involved (if anyone else was) have already set a BAD precedent. How to structure a BAD contract. And it wasn't the 1st time under ADES' watch that has happened. He did it with Jody Adams and then went even further into space with Todd Butler. Too late now but going forward let's hope the person or persons in charge of that have learned a lesson, are smarter and can think creatively, and can create a contract where if the program wins the coach wins and gives the AD a chance to correct failures at a fair and reasonable cost. It really should not be that difficult.

This came up earlier today with a colleague of mine who cares as much (probably more) about Shocker baseball as I do, so thought I'd pose the question here. Troutwine and Tinkham have the most chances in the field (as you'd expect) and also lead the team with perfect fielding percentages, as do a handful of others. Removing those two as outliers based on position alone, you would expect that your middle infielder may lead the team in errors, but is balanced by more overall chances, which is the case with us.

Here's my question - should passed balls be considered errors? . Or perhaps each PB should be considered a half of an error assessed to both the pitcher and catcher? Our catcher has 11 of them.

If a run scores on a passed ball (or a wild pitch) it is considered unearned (although that might change depending on what happens after that). In any case, call it what you want and score it any way you want but they are mistakes which a good receiver will minimize.

11 passed balls is darned near unbelievable. It's a disgrace to the award that his name somehow ended up on the Johnny Bench watch list.

From what I have watched/heard this season, I would wager WSU has 1 average defender (Mucha) and the other 7 positions are fielded at any given time by below-average to terrible defenders.

Mucha made a diving catch during one of the early, multi-run innings. I was pleased to see him sell out for that one rather than let it fall. The end result of the game would've likely been the same, but he at least shortened the inning. I don't see enough of that.
