Have to agree with this - - at this point, the offensive juggernaut looks pretty unstoppable against teams with RPI over 200 or so, or against teams with no pitching or defense...but maybe not quite so much against anyone else, at least not to this point.

We shall see, but it may be a bit early to proclaim this offense as being good enough to carry a team with relief pitching as suspect as it's been so far....

Teams with actual bullpens don't often blow 4 or 5 run leads in the last couple of innings.....(and today, that applies to both teams that were out there).
You do realize our last two games against Long Beach St. (which has an RPI of 1) we had 14 hits and 10 hits. Yesterday against Havard we had 16 hits and 14 hits. That is a difference 6 hits over two games.

sure I do....and what I also realize is that those hits vs. LBSU turned into 8 runs, while those hits vs. Harvard turned into 27 runs....and that's not to mention all of the 'outs' that Harvard turned into hits (or errors).

Don't get me wrong...I think that the games lately where the offense came back from big deficits to win - that's a great thing, and does show some promise for the future.....

      BUT

I also think that you're going to have to show me some better numbers against quality teams, and/or show me a pitching staff that can shut down 'anyone' before I'll be convinced that this team is going anywhere.

All I'm saying is, I think the jury is still out, and we'll see....

I have 2 words Shocker Baseball. I dont care what anyone says. This is not acceptable for this program. When you have hitters going 0-5 or 1-5 against the likes of Harvard who has only played 2 games. Something is wrong.

Sorry I forgot to mention. You guys are right this is definately not Shocker Baseball pitching either. Early in the season is no excuse for this program.

I don't disagree with you AT ALL!!!! I was just pointing out it isn't really fair to say we can only hit against 200+ RPI teams when we put up 31 hits in 3 games versus the #1 RPI team in the country. We need to do MUCH better turning them into runs but it is also very early and very cold. I hope that is all that is wrong but the lack of pitching depth is very scary. We are going to need to score 10 runs to win games if this keeps up.
