Looks like the Shox are done now. A routine ground ball turns into 2 bases.
Shocker fan for life after witnessing my first game in person, the 80-74 win over the #12 Creighton Bluejays at the Kansas Coliseum.

I'm sorry, but what I've witnessed this past half inning is an absolute joke.

Definitely a bad call, but the runner didn't help himself by diving into first base. When will people learn that you actually get to first base quicker by running through it as opposed to diving. I guarantee if he runs through the bag he's called safe.

For the record, I can say as one who has been a coach and an official, I hate instant replay, especially in baseball. Certain calls are made based on different situations, and human error is part of the game. Coaches, players, and umpires alike all make mistakes. Get rid of instant replay and let the human element of the game come back.

I can understand sliding on that play. There are good odds of a throw off line from the bag, leading to a tag situation with the pitcher covering. Blaming that on the runner is a weak cop out. Safe is safe.

Shox completely imploding all on their own in the 6th.

Goes both ways though. Shox have gotten some gift calls both at the plate and at first. This crew has been consistently bad all tournament, but it's part of the game.

Some of our batters aren't helping themselves by taking pitches down the gut with 2 strikes

Interesting take but I couldn't disagree more. I want to know the right call is made. The review process in the MLB is quite efficient in my eyes and really improves the game. Tonight when a team's season is on the line I would have liked to have had the play reviewed. At least allow reviews in the playoffs.

Not really, considering most everyone in my group on the outfield hill agreed diving was the wrong thing to do there. I'm telling ya, if he runs through the bag he's called safe.

I will agree the Shox are showing their lack of baseball IQ now

We can certainly agree to disagree to a point. Tbh, I'm kind of torn. I want the right call made too, but I also know human error is part of the game. I'd go with instant limited replay. 1 challenge per game, right or wrong

Good to know you and your buddies on the hill were right. Totally changed my mind.

It is so sad that this is the type of bullpen pitching that a WSU team puts on the field in Game 2 of a tournament.

It's definitely a far cry from the Royals bullpen I've been accustomed to.
