Very nice win. Now they just need to keep tomorrow game close and find a way to win it just like tonight.

Good heavens -- a listed crowd of 1308? Weak, weak, weak. That's more like the attendance in Wichita for a game between two other teams after the Shocks have been eliminated. At least I had the excuse of being out of town.

The Shocks are playing great right now, like the Shocks of our past days. Let's have a good turnout tomorrow night. They deserve it. I was there tonight, where were you?

It was 50 degrees with a stiff north breeze on a Wednesday evening involving a team 7 games below .500. What the hell do you expect?

I managed to succumb to the fact of going to the game just for the sake of us popping off the Redturds. And boy do I not regret it. What an incredible comeback. Hillard, first-pitch no-doubter. Absolutely awesome. And then Hayes with sick **** in the 9th to finally beat the Redturds when it mattered the most. Felt great.

Reality definitely hits tomorrow. Not gonna be expecting too much but winners of 10 in a row at home and postseason baseball will reel me in for tomorrow night. Might as well win the whole f***** thing.

That 1308 number is probably indicative of the numbers for people actually showing up to games this season. Because season ticket holders didn't get MVC tickets, the 1308 number is what it is...no inflation. That all said, the weather should be better tonight, so you'd hope that the crowd can grow for tonight's game. If by some miracle the Shockers are victorious tonight, then tomorrow night's crowd better be really good (weather-permitting of course).

How much are single session tickets at the gate?

Our rotation of starters deserves a ton of credit for their progress these last 16 games.

Quality starts were an endangered species for a long time after Tewes and Schwanke went down. Now we have 4 guys who have shown massive improvement and have the ability to pitch effectively for 6 or 7+. Next year's rotation might be the deepest we have had in almost a decade.

$10 for the hill. I think they had discounted $6 tickets for the grandstand.

They did not scan my season ticket card but let me in with it. I am not sure now they counted the crowd. It was very cool temperatures but I thought there were more than 1308.

I called the ticket office and they definitely said that my season ticket does not include the MVC games.

                        8th inning last night

Question: Paul Suellentrop's article in the Eagle today said that Trey Vicker's hit in the 8th inning occurred when he threw his bat at a breaking bat. I asked a friend about it who attended the game & he apparently wasn't in a position to tell if Vickers actually threw his bat at the ball. Did he really do that as it is a pretty rare feat? In fact, I'd like to share a historical fact on the subject & some readers weren't born yet when this happened. Back in the 80's or early 90's, WSU was leading Arizona State by one run in a CWS game. It was either a national title game or a semi-final game. Arizona State's hitter got a hit when he threw his bat at an outside pitch. ASU then went on to win the game. I was living in Tempe, AZ, at the time, so the bat throwing for a hit event stuck in my memory. I sent Paul Suellentrop an email about this today, so perhaps he can look up the game and date when that happened.

Just watched the replay on ESPN3. I think it was a figurative comment. He didn't actually throw the bat...just had one of those swings where he just kinda put the bat out there to send it opposite field.
