        Cupboard bare???

---Nearly everybody back from last year's Regional Team.
        ---Pre-season MVC #1.
        ---Pre-season #35 nationally.

The talent situation in no way resembles what Turgeon left for Marshall.

There have been lots of problems this year like suspensions, injuries, and a bunch of one run losses but the record simply cannot be blamed on a bare cupboard. Returning players are not 80's or 90's talent level but they are the best we have had in a few years.

Last year's team started slow and got better as the year went on. Let's hope this year's team does the same.

        Go Shox!!!

Bit of a rally in the 5th. Not that we can hear it. Seriously, I've got a $100 contribution to some new freaking broadcast equipment. It's been the same problem for 20 years.

Naturally, Gillaspie comes through with an RBI single. Unfortunately, you feel like he needed to hit a 3-run homer for there to be any chance in this one. 7-2

2-0 fastball, swing and a miss. 3-1 fastball, infield pop-up. When you're looking for an 85mph fastball, get it, and can't do anything with it, we aren't going to go very far.

As clearly stated in post - Returning players are not 80's or 90's talent level but they are the best we have had in a few years. It is not 1999 now nor will it ever be again.

Aces not done, lead 8-2 with runners at first and third.

11-2. Might as well just give up 1 more and go get some ice cream.

There we go. 12-2. Just a couple more innings and everyone can go back to the hotel for a nice nap.

Shouldn't this program have a goal and expectation of getting back to the level where they are actually nationally relevant? Shockers in 2000's had some 90's talent.

Maybe we should all volunteer to go out to Eck Stadium and disinfect that place from top to bottom, although not sure I want to catch whatever has infected the place.

Absolutely, but to try to compare the returning baseball talent to what Turgeon left for Marshall is both disingenuous and revisionist. Pretty sure Marshall's first team wasn't picked to win the Valley.

That's my only point: There is NO comparison between what Turgeon left (nothing) and what Gene left (MVC pre-season favorites).
