3-run HR from Gillaspie. This is what AAs do early in the season against inferior competition, they rack up serious stats.

      6-0 Shox

Yip. It also seems like our coach understand when and when not to use small ball - which Gene never did.

Shocks have really hit the ball hard today. Good to see. I know the errors are bothersome, but that's not going to be our everyday SS out there and unless Green turns it around I doubt he's out there much more. I am far more impressed with our approach to the game in general than I am bothered by a few plays, specifically.

Pretty wild generalizations after 19 innings. It all gets easier when the guys are hitting HRs, too.

That said, I like what I see offensively so far.

Sam Tewes will start Tuesday, per Shane Dennis.

              Base hit for Micah Green.

Good to see the team handle the bottom of a crappy team's pitching staff like they should.

9-0 Shox, still batting in the 2nd.

We probably don't know all that much about how Butler will play things and your right of course - the instant offense is a bonus for Butler, but I will stand by my comment that Gene didn't know how to play small ball.

Are they holding open tryouts for middle infielders this week? I may have to go try out.

I wonder what KC Shox is gonna find to ***** about in this one. That we didn't go error-free? That we didn't win 40-0?

Was Dearman at 2nd last year really worse than what we've had so far this year? I know he wasn't great, but come on.

Just my opinion, but I don't agree with those bagging on Micah. He's one of our leading returning hitters (.286) had an errorless season in 2013 and is coming off a very good fall, according to Butler. He lost a ball in the sun. That's no reason to bench him in the third game.

“Micah Green is as physical of a centerfielder as you can have in college baseball,” Butler said. “We think he has the confidence to have the season he has been looking for. He can change the game with one swing and is also a plus runner and plus defender. He had a very good fall.

“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'

Micah Green with a grand slam off the scoreboard.

                              Now up 18-1.

                              Hmm.

I know this is basically BP off the bottom of a crappy pitching staff, but we've faced BP off the bottom of crappy pitching staffs recently and not done this.

                                19-1.
