I'll go slow for the i dotters and t crossers
Gene met with ad, came out, it was reported had a choice to make and if he was gone everyone was gone, true or false
bk was asked to stay on after genes meeting the next day ( when everyone was fired) bk accepted, briefly let gene know as gene was preparing for presser true of false
above are facts, below is speculation
ades can't stand Gene
ades won't hire a former shocker, to separate the program from gene
ades had no choice but to keep bk at least temporarily for stability of program, he might even want him around. If not for that I believe his preference would be a clean sweep.
bk is saying all the right things, the question is will he go with gene if gene gets a new gigTHE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE

Gene said that everyone would be fired. It wasn't reported, and I'm telling you that comment isn't factual. Brent was absolutely not going to be fired unless it was simply a legal-strategic move for ease of paperwork. Brent was staying.
Brent was asked to stay on, yes, but I think you have to put 2 and 2 together and see if that really just happened at the last minute or perhaps earlier? Personally, I don't believe it happened that day, hint hint nudge nudge wink wink know what I mean know what I mean?
Brent is NOT hanging around to see how the new coach and he get along. He's in this for the long haul and is going to get a long term contract.
As to your speculation:
1)I have no idea but he made the correct decision whether he likes Gene or not. 2)You're wrong. ADES will hire the best person for the job regardless if he's a Shocker or not. 3)Maybe. I agree, that's pure speculation. 4)Yes, and he's not going with Gene, end of discussion.

Worth noting — This week, Wichita Wingnuts manager Kevin Hooper, a former Shocker, made his long-rumored interest in the job public. He has the backing of Detroit Tigers manager Jim Leyland, who contacted Sexton

Sorry, he burned that option up when he left for OU. When he came back, it was a virtual clean slate in my view. What does two super-regionals earn you?

Did Gene's incredible success allow him for six bad years? seven bad years? Five is enough.

Although I don't understand it the front runner right now is Hill, followed by T a&m asst, OSU asst then Hooper. Why would Hill leave? Baseball is an afterthought in the bad apple, this year will be tough to follow. Coming to WSU means an easier path to the tourney, instant facility and fan base and more money. He will always be 4th or 5th fiddle at Ksu.
