He is on the hotseat because he has not managed to make it to Omaha since the same summer that Bob Dole was gaining the Republican nominee for President. Lets not act like it is one bad year and your expectations are the highest.
Again I tip my cap for the run through the Valley tournament. That is terrific. But you are a four seed at the end of the day. If you make it further then I will tip my cap again. Good Afternoon Shockers. I hope some of you journey up to Manhattan (Titletown), KS to witness the continued athletic excellence exhibited by Kansas State Athletics.
I guess since Nebraska and Wichita State are retiring from good baseball (see Fire Gene thread), K-State will jump in to pick up the slack. We can easily fund all of our hobby sports with spillover Football Money because we're rich right now.
In other K-State news, Alcohol has been sold at our Baseball Stadium on a trial basis this year (hence BoozeCats, who were formerly the BatCats) but likely won't be sold during an Official NCAA sponsored event.
As far as Baseball Statistics, K-State was weak in the pitching department but fantastic in errors (1st in Big 12 play), batting average (1st in Big 12 play), on base percentage (1st in Big 12 play), and slugging percentage (1st in Big 12 play).

I think some are forgetting WSU flexed it's muscle in the 15th rated conference and did nothing outside of it.
With that said I thought they played a different kind of baseball during the MVC tourney. Great defense, great pitching, great hitting, hopefully it continues.

Just keep in mind Andrew that Gene is largely responsible for kick-starting your success, what little you've had so far. Ask your coach if he considers his sport a hobby. Let me know how that works out for you. Thanks.

Are you talking about the year WSU finished last? Oh wait a minute, WSU has never finished worse than third under Gene. It was you guys that finished last.

Conference titles are great, but you are judged by what you do in the postseason, and KSU athletics fall short, really short.Follow me on twitter: https://twitter.com/Shox_KCfan

"There is a reason why the B12 only got 3 bids - they are not a dominant conference. Pitching wins championships - so KSU stay in the regionals will be short."
Big 12 (ten teams) has 3 tournament selections including a Regional Host in Manhattan, KS.
Misery Valley has 1 team and that one is a 4 seed.
Our conference was down and and we should have replaced the home and home against Wichita State with someone tougher...... apparently this Bryant Team would have been a better fit. This is probably why K-State and KU continue to avoid scheduling the Shox in Basketball. Honestly I prefer to pad the win column but these AD's are tough to figure out sometimes.
"Greetings Animal Husband. What sacrificial lamb do you expect to start for you on Friday?"
It is hard to know who we will start on the mound on Friday. Considering we will want to save some of our better pitchers for Arkansas, I am of the opinion that Hill will let you guys off a bit easier and not use as much Williams and Matthys. I am not huge on any of our starters. They usually pitch okay but they are by no means dominant. Matthys and Williams are almost always closing it down in the late innings especially lately. I can't really see my team making it to Omaha but I will NOT be surprised to see them get through a home regional. Our batting order plays all nine innings and they hit really well.
