Congrats on winning the Valley Tournament. Unfortunately I have become a huge K-State fan ever since Chad May was the QB there. So I have to root for them. EMAW!

Wow that is unfortunate for you. Rooting for the Bears and the Wildcats has to be emotionally gut wrenching. So many expectations, so few results.

I am mostly just a KSU football fan because I admire the great work of Bill Snyder. But to comment on your last sentence, Kansas State won conference titles in football, basketball, and baseball in what is probably the second greatest athletic conference behind possibly the SEC. I think their fans are content.

Thanks for the reminder. It is easy to forget that KSU was in the basketball post-season. It was over so quickly. :)

You're probably right.... Their fans ARE content. That's what makes emaws such a sad and pathetic lot. It's like landing at Tenzing-Hillary airport, realizing you forgot to pack your crampons and parka and bragging how you made it to Everest though you never even made it to Camp #2. But by gosh, you made it to Everest. By the way, only an emaw fan would support a quantrill native son of missourah supporting their school. Please continue to hate WSU. Go Shox!

I guess if your main school doesn't do anything but once every 10 years I would pick another school as well. Combined, the two have a halfway successful athletic department, neither with an NCAA title.

I am sure that MSU would be overjoyed to be in a Regional. I'm also sure that KSU will be excited that they got there, win or lose. WSU fans are arguing about whether we should fire our coach since we had to back in to the playoffs by winning the MVC tournament. No question that there is a different level of expectation at Wichita State.

WSU has a limited number of tickets for the Regional which will be distributed to season ticket holders and SASO members based on priority points. Fans can request tickets from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. on Tue., May 28 by calling the Wichita State Ticket Office at (316) 978-FANS. The ticket office will notify fans on Wed., May 29 by noon if they will receive tickets.

Combine the total between MSU and KSU and does it even equal half of our total?

If you're gonna bandwagon up with somebody to root against, at least pick a school with some actual clout, like Arkansas. I guess it's just par for the course though.

Tickets go on sale to the general public at 8:30 but we won't know if we have any through WSU until noon?

Does that make any sort of sense, especially since it'll likely sell out?

The selection committee hates K-State. They have no psychological advantage that normally has of 1 over 4 as WSU knows they are beatable (and should have beaten them).

I have no interest in staying on this board long, but I can't let this comment go. Gene is on the hotseat because only a miraculous run in the Valley tournament kept a group of seniors from missing the postseason in all of there 4 years in Wichita. He is on the hotseat because he has not managed to make it to Omaha since the same summer that Bob Dole was gaining the Republican nominee for President. Lets not act like it is one bad year and your expectations are the highest.

Again I tip my cap for the run through the Valley tournament. That is terrific. But you are a four seed at the end of the day. If you make it further then I will tip my cap again. If you make it to Omaha, I will eat my hat.
