Ughhhhhhh Heller with the brainfart of the century by not bunting, then we give them the bags with a 2 strike wild pitch.

Why was it such a bad idea to not bunt? If I have my #5 hitter up, who has one sacrifice all season and leads my team in walks, and he's facing a new pitcher in a big spot, I'm not about to send him up there to give away an out. Apparently Heller isn't as wedded to cliche baseball as some of our posters are, and it's to his credit that he isn't.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time we've seen LaBrie have an outing like this. I wish if they were going to switch to him anyway, they had done it to start the inning, not with men on base. Not sure whose fault it was, Brent's or Gene's -- Gene has always had too slow a hook, and it's cost him plenty of times, including a trip to the 2006 supers -- but someone got a little greedy.

Minnis was magnificent, but they had gotten as much from as they could possibly have hoped for by making it through five innings and two trips down the InSt lineup. He deserved better, and I blame the coaches right along with LaBrie for the mess. What's sad is that the runs are in the box score by Albert's name even though LaBrie was the guy carrying the gas can to what started out as a fairly small fire.

I just hope Vielock's salvage job came soon enough and that the hitters pull their heads out before it's too late.
