According to Mike, that's 7 straight errorless games for the Shocks and raises their fielding % to .976 if my calculations are right. Interestingly, they only had 1 assist in the first game against SIU. Seems like a low number, given they have 700 in 61 games so far this year, but it is correct. Just 1 assist.

When I first read your post I'm thinking 1 assist must be a mistake even if it was only a 7 inning game. But I checked the play-by-play and that is the fact jack. A grounder to SS for the 1st out of the 2nd inning was the only Shocker assist in that game.

I wonder if that could be some kind of record?

Given the circumstances, that may have been the best pitched game WSU has had all year -- if not, it was certainly right up there.

Now let's find a way for young Mr. Wholestaff to get the Shocks to Saturday and for Elam to find his command, so Gardner can get another chance to pitch this season. The guy who was out there for WSU today is NOT someone a regional opponent would want to face from a #4 seed.

Would dearly love to see Brummett get another start as well. He looked in command of about 7 pitches yesterday.

Wow. It's nice to be up for a Shocker baseball game again. Keep it rolling boys.

But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'
