I asked this in the SIU thread but anyone know if the Tree's ace who got scratched at the last minute before game 1 is pitching this afternoon?

Shane Dennis mentioned late in the WSU game today that Manaea (sp?) was still experiencing soreness in his shoulder and he didn't think he was available.

I'm sure only ISUB knows the real deal.

So the Bears aren't going to host a regional for the 7th time in 10 years?

I am expecting a solid outing from Gardner. Just a gut feeling. Johnny Coy seems to have found his stroke all of sudden so why not expect the same from Kris.

Live Stats is listing a lefty starter for InSt (surprise, surprise), but not THE lefty. By the way, their website shows the team hitting .255 (!) with a .355 OBA and .335 (!!) SA. The Trees average five runs a game.

Offensively, their stats actually make the Shocks look good -- let's hope the Shocks go out and actually do look good.

Well, we're starting to go back to our old ways at the plate. Leaving the bases juiced is something that can't be afforded.

Uh-oh -- back to the usual 2013 WSU offense, it appears so far. At least Gardner has deviated from the 2013 pitching standard by minimizing the potential damage in his two opportunities.
