Man I about gave up when Bradley went up 6-3, but something told me to keep listening anyway. Micah Green really came through for the Shox today. Our pitching drives me nuts, but the Shox still managed to pull out a road win today.

Let's go for the sweep tomorrow. Drew pitched well against K-state.

Micah Green's two out double came with two strikes. Nice.

One of the things that have bugged me about WSU pitching in recent years is we seem to deliver an unusually high number of center cut pitches and resulting hard hit balls on 0-2 and 1-2 counts.

Considering the way Bradley gift wrapped the 9th inning for us can we in all good conscious claim this as a win.

Perhaps we should all send a big thank you note to Bradley's head coach. But only if KSU does the same for the Shockers.

I agree, ESPECIALLY since we seem to have practically no pitchers with an "out" pitch.

That being said, Peterson has been solid with (if my count is correct) better than an 8-1 K/W ratio this year so he is due credit for having some kind of "out" pitch.

Yeah I think it safe to say. What a meltdown. All they had to do was find a pitcher to throw strikes - wsu hitters would have did what they did all day - watch them go by.

shox1989 will be on later though to brag us up with our first place standing!

You betcha! Shox are tied for first at 6-2 with MoSt. Cu sits a game behind at 5-3.

I am not sure how long it will last, but for now we are still tied for first!

                    Bayliff struck out.
Harbutz struck out. Bobbit stole 2nd.
                    Green doubled, Bobbit scored.
Gillaspie walked, Doggett runs for him.
                    Double steal.
Moore walks, wild pitch, Green scores. Kihle runs for Moore.
                    Mucha walks.
                    Wild pitch. Doggett scores.
                    Baker walks.
                    Parker flies out.

1 hit, 5 walks, 2 wild pitches, 3 stolen bases. This is about the only way this team scores 3 in an inning.

Peterson in to work the 9th. Coy in at 1st.
I like seeing the steals and double steals that is something that Shocker baseball used to do regularly and we don't see much of it any more.

Baker had a good day at the plate today. So did Mucha, Casey G. and Sean Moore.

Yes, but in today's case those steals were mostly attributed to Bradley falling completely asleep. Only one of them, by my count, would be counted as a true steal.

But even that was questionable in the circumstances. Bobbitt's steal was defensvie indifference. The double steal did nothing for us and was't worth the risk of ending he game on a caught stealing.

Yeah, I like aggressive base-running, but I also like smart baseball and that was not smart baseball.

We won this game because of Bradley's ineptitude, pure and simple.

                                Damnit we're so stupid sometimes!

                                Bobbit singles and steals 2nd.
                                Bayliff singles, first and 3rd.
Baker starts 2-0 then flies out to the 1st baseman on a ball a foot outside. GRRRRRR!

Fortunately, Gillespie singles home the 1st run.

1st and 3rd with Green up. Green singles and an error.

2nd and 3rd, 1 out. 2-0 Shocks. Need to put the hammer down right now to try and secure a top 6 finish in the Valley.

                                Eric Harbutz at the plate.
