How this program has fallen.

Cale Elam pitches a gem striking out 13 in a 5 hit complete hit shutout. WSU really couldn't hit the Braves weak starter, David Koll, who entered the game with a 5.62 ERA. Koll struck out 10 and walked 1 in 6 and 2/3.

WSU managed a 3 spot in the top of the 8th to seal the deal after scratching out a single run in the 2nd.

Cale threw 118 pitches...........hmmmm................

Cale Elam had a very impressive performance tonight. He has set a great tone for the weekend. I am hoping for a sweep!

The Shox are 1/3rd of the way through the conference season and at 5-2 the Shox are tied with CU and MoST for first place in the Valley!

Even in one of the worst seasons ever for Gene, the Shox are in first place.

I remember 5 years ago we would sometimes have 10 page game threads and even games against Bradley were 3 or 4 pages long.

So sad.

Exactly. And we'll be lucky to to win even 1 of those 6 games. Sad doesn't even begin to describe this once proud program.

yip, they are one bad loss to Bradley from being in 3rd place and since WSU is 2-10 against Top 100 competition you have to wonder is a 4th or 5th place finish possible?

I don't think we will make that big of jump. Next season we will have a Non-conference Thread, a Conference Thread andl, asssuming we qualify an MVC Tournament Thread. Now if the trend continues, the following year we will just merge the Baseball thread into the Men's Sports Thread.th

What's the old saying. The only thing worse than angry fans is apahetic fans. I hate to say it but apathy seems to be setting in.

Congrats to Cale on an outstanding game and we pretty much need the shut out to win. This game could have easily gone either way until the Shocks broke loose in the 8th.

Hopefully, Chris Gardner will get back on his game sooner than later.

Can't say I have a lot of faith that A.J. Ladwig will be a consistent winner.
