I agree with that. Double edged sword though. Our seed suffered because of playing a brutal schedule, but the brutality gave us the goods to knock off the #9 team in the country 2 out of 3 times in just a few days when it mattered most.

We are better than Tulane, but it is what it is.

Former Shocker Chuck Ingram, who cooled off as the year went on and fell to 9th in the Wildcat batting order, homered twice and drove in 5 in KState's weather delayed win vs La Tech. 19-4 Final.

ECU and Wake, the 2 highest seeds, are facing off in an elimination game. 2 of the best pitchers in the country, Trey Yesavage for ECU and Chase Burns for Wake are battling. Both teams expected this matchup so they saved their ace. Neither thought it would be an elimination game, I'm sure. Burns is sitting 97-100 on his FB and his off speed stuff is all but unhittable.

Unless he hangs one to uber douche Dixon Williams who just left the yard with a probable game deciding 3 run bomb. 4-1 ECU. Can't see Wake getting to Yesavage for 3 more runs.

Inexplicably they pulled Yesavage with 1 out in the 8th. Beal couldn't get an out, but Groller did then Lundsford-Shenkman got out of the inning.

To the 9th. WLS hit the first guy. Wallace in. Gets an out. single, single and it's 1st and 3rd, 4-2.

Single. 4-3. Squeeze, ECU can't make the throw but runners stay. Loaded.

Wallace out, Dilorenzo in.

Ball. Ball. Strike. Foul. Ball, nearly a passed ball. Count is full.
