10 of 13. Certainly nowhere near perfect, but finding ways!

I think I heard Denning Gerig mention previously that Seth's numbers were actually better against lefties then they are against righties.

Of course, that doesn't mean his numbers are great. But when he does run into one it generally goes a long way.

15 free passes in the game. You don't get away with that often. Thank goodness for the 4 Shocker double plays and Gonzaga's anemic hitting (only 5 hits). The home plate umps strike zone was pretty small and a bit quirky but after 8 innings of pretty ugly pitching (by both teams) Brady Hamiltion showed that it could be done with an excellent 1-2-3 strike throwing 9th inning.

Pretty solid work by the hitters today and you can't complain too much about an error-free defense that turned 4 double plays.

My investment in Johnson & Johnson stock continues to pay dividends.

Jordan Rogers is en fuego. He just missed a double down the left field line in his last at bat or he would be batting 1.000 for the series.

Maybe Seth Stroh is the reincarnation of King Kong Kingman.

Like what I saw from Kam Durnin today. Solid in the field and maybe the best he has swung the bat this year as well.

Thank God for the pitch clock. Can you imagine how long this game would have lasted without that. In addition to greatly improving the pace of play one of the other things I like about the pitch clock is it eliminates every batter from unfastening and refastening each of their batting gloves between each pitch. I always found that to be irritating.

Hopefully, Tommy has a good start in him tomorrow. Daniel Zang has really good stuff but at times his command just doesn't show up. Coach Claggs has some remedial work to do with Daniel.

Zang is suffering from Dreifort Syndrome, where you can't throw the ball straight no matter how hard you try. And you're right, it's a problem.

We had to go to Dobbs (again) to help stem the tide in the middle innings. 28 pitches yesterday, 64 on Wednesday.....not sure how much I want to see him Tuesday vs the Kitties. And that's not good.

Brady was very good once he got settled in. That's encouraging. Zayas continues to struggle. He's still probably going to get another chance or 2 but they are definitely diminishing. Drew warmed up poorly and his inability to throw strikes wasn't a surprise to me, given the poor warmup.

To date, 19 different pitchers have seen action, and I speculate we're reasonably comfortable with 8 with Iverson and Geraghty just on the outside looking in. We need more. We need 1 or 2 of the lesser talented arms to carve out a niche and at least 1 of the more talented arms to figure it out. And at least 1 of those needs to be someone that can give us length, either as a starter or out of the pen.

No doubt about it, that was Kam Durnin's best game. Mostly solid in the field (although a couple of meh plays that didn't cost us much) and squared up more than 1 ball at the plate. Be interesting to see if he or Parker get the nod today. Can't take Jordo out of the lineup the way he's swinging it. And the best thing about Stroh's BOMB was that it was a deuce, even if it was a hanging deuce. It's nice to have a couple of grown men in the lineup.

Quietly, from my perspective at least, Jaden Gustafson is developing into a very solid player. He's been good if not plus good at the dish.

Let's see how today goes. So far, so good.

And we really don't want him to throw straight. However, you have enough command and feel to keep the bal in the general zip code of the strike zone. He has shown he can be very effective at times. I have no idea whether his issues are mechanical or mental or perhaps just overthrowing trying to strike out the world but his stuff is just too good not to give hime plenty of chances ot figure it out.

Feels like a loss in the making. The Shocks just don't seemed to be mentally engaged.

Walks, HBP, errors (bad throws and bad plays). I said it the other day, and I was told I didn’t know as much as someone else, even though, how would they know?

Good pitching and and good defense go hand in hand. When one is having problems, the other is close behind, and I have no kids playing, so I’m saying it without defending anyone or playing favorites. We are playing with Fire again today. Yesterday, we put out the fire, after Zang. Today, Inning #4, we finally got burned. Hopefully, we can get back.

Bunting is statistically not the right call pretty much ever. Unless you are in the 8th or 9th inning and losing by one, with a runner on first or second, the outcome just isn't favorable in the long run.

At least according to the nerd articles I have read up on this.
