Thompson was an assistant for Kyle Crookes at Hutch before Crookes went to UCM. Crookes has put together quite the resume at UCM. May not be D-1, but he’s won everywhere he’s been. If I had a choice between Thompson and Crookes I think I take Crookes.Once a Shocker, Always a Shocker-- RIP Guy Alang-Ntang

Even if we ignore the fact that if it is indeed Brian Green then it's all but certain that our AD had this in mind a long time ago and in fact did not engage in a national search and instead had already chosen "his guy"..... I'd settle for just 1 thing that this guy brings to the table the the previous one did not.
Other than being friends with ADKS.
I've never wanted anything but the best for these kids and our program. At least the best that we can get. If ADKS brings in a home run, hats off to him and I'll be there supporting them the entire time. But if this is the guy.......as I said before, we've got a problem because there's nothing on the resume that says he's better than FICLH.

From the above link
WASHINGTON STATE THIS past season under Green finished 29-23/10-19. The Cougs started out hot at 13-2/3-1, before going 16-21/7-18 the rest of the way. Wazzu was eliminated from the Pac-12 Tournament on the final day of the regular season, and for the second-straight season.
Seriously? Even if Hibbs isn’t the guy, is there anyone out there better than this?

Green is a hitting guy, and NMSU was solid during his time there. Basically just .500 at Wazzou, which doesn’t have much history and isn’t the easiest place to win at. However, his time there doesn’t scream “hire me” either.
I don’t think he has much connection to this part of the country outside Saal, and that would make recruiting and establishing connections difficult. At one time, he was a rising coach in college baseball, but has struggled at the current stop.
