  • For the Liberal BeeJays in the Jayhawk League:

Dayne Parker is hitting 0.411 (39-95) with no HRs, 22 RBI and 22 RS. His OBP is 0.447 and his OPS is 1.057

Tyler Baker is hitting 0.293 (29-99) with no HRs, 19 RBI and 18 RS. His OBP is 0.362 and his OPS is 0.877

Kyle Vail only pitched 3 innings for the BeeJays in 4 appearances with out allowing a run (although not sure how many inherited runners scored. He allowed 3 hits, 3 walks and had 3 strikeouts in those 3 innings. He last pitched on June 26th. Again it looks like he was shutdown but for what reason I do not know.

    • For the El Dorado Broncos in the Jayhawk League:

Mikel Mucha is hitting 0.302 (19-63) with 1 HR, 10 RBI and 10 RS. His OBP is 0.371 and his OPS is 0.736

In league games only Taylor Doggett is hitting 0.174 (4-23). Not sure why he only has 23 ABs. Maybe lack of production keeping him on the bench?

      • For the Haysville Heat in the Jayhawk League:

In league games only Conner Knight is hitting 0.324 (22-68)

As an aside Walker Davidson is leading Haysville in batting average at 0.351 (40-114) and is 5th in the Jayhawk League. Tyler Coughenour is batting 0.280 for El Dorado. I don't know if either guy will be given the opportunity to return to the Shockers this next year or not.

        • On the mound for the Santa Barbara Foresters:

          T.J. McGreevey has 19.0 IP in 13 games allowing 6 runs (2 earned) on 16H, 3BB while striking out 16. He has a 0.95 ERA with a 1.00 WHIP

Albert Minnis has 21.1 IP in 19 games allowing 9 runs (6 earned) on 20H, 5BB while stirking out 29. He has a 2.53 ERA and a 1.172 WHIP

          • Aaron Labrie has pitched 33.0 innings in 15 appearances for the Wilson Tobs in the Coastal Plains League.
He has allowed 14 runs (7 earned) on 33H and 14BB while striking out 7. He has a 1.91 ERA and 1.42 WHIP.

That WHIP is a little high and since all his appearances have been in relief I wonder how many inherited runners he has allowed to score.

Not sure the WJL is quite at the level that the Nothwoods, Prospect and Alaska leagues are talent-wise.
I would say not. The Northwoods, Propspect and Cape Cod are generally considered the 3 best summer leagues with the Alaska League just a slight notch behind them. The WJL is a notch below the Jayhawk League which is just below the Alaska League. Having said that, I am not sure how big the differences really are any more.

Micah Green is have a similar summer for the Anchorage Glacier Pilots. He is hitting 0.259 (22-85) with 1 HR and 11 RBI. He has struck out 19 times and has walked 11 times and also has been HBP 4 times. His OBP is 0.318 and his OPS is 0.735. Micah has stolen 11 bases which has not seemed to be a strength for his as a Shocker.

Bob Arens, also with Matsui, is below the Mendoza line at 0.186 (8-43). Nuff said.

I thought Foster Vielock was supposed to pitch for Matsui this summer but I don't see him in thier stats nor in any of the ABL stats. Could be he/coaches decided to rest his arm over the summer.
Apparently Eric Harbutz made the Alaska League All Star team.

Dayne Parker's numbers have been really great. I hope he can continue to have that kind of success at the plate next year for the Shox.

                  • Gillaspie finished 2nd in his league's home run derby, but was hit in the head with a pitch during the all-star game. Walked off under his own power.

I hope he is okay. It sounds good that he walked off on his own power.

                            • The Hays Larks eliminated the Wichita Prospects this morning in a very good game. Coach Kenny Waddell is doing a great job. The Hays Larks being full of division 1 college players should have handled Kenny's high school kids easily but the Prospects gave them all they could handle losing 3-2.
