I think there were a few people asking that question.

    • Going to the bottom of the 9th with Bradley leading SWOMO 5-3. Unless the Bears can rally it will be the Bears and Shox at noon tomorrow.

      • Bradley wins 5-3. Great catch by the CF may have stopped Boo Boo from a 9th inning comeback.

        • Awesome.

Remember the days when we'd come unglued if a Shocker team went 2&Q in the College World Series? Then it was 2&Q in the Super Regional...then 2&Q in a Regional......but the effing MVC?

          Say it ain't so, Joe.

          • Well, what does that say about our league? The conference's 3 best teams with the 3 best chances at at-large bids all lose on opening day. That is AWESOME. That pretty much means 1 team is gonna steal a bid, knocking at least 1 team out, with MSU and WSU eliminating themselves from contention with a loss tomorrow.

            What a grrrrrreat league!

            ... No really, deuces.

Hey, just as long as we're fair to everyone. That's the important thing.

Tomorrow at noon is nothing less than a First Four game.

                • We are seeing MVC Baseball implode right before our eyes; the teams, league, and tournament are all becoming obscure - there are virtually no fans watching (sad to see that on ESPN 3), and there will be less than none (if that is possible) next season. Might as well pull the plug on league.

                  • Was anyone at the game?

Tuned in ESPN3 to watch SIU/WSU game.

Only observed one fat guy in the stands behind home plate.

Was there a bomb scare in the stadium?

Seriously, one fat guy was it.

To note it is embarrassing to the Valley is the Mr. Obvious quote of the day.

The other obvious is Don Lambert.

I've only watched a couple games this year, but does he ever make contact?

All I've seen is one whiff after another.

Is he really the #3 hole 'hitter' in the line up?

                    Really?
Above all, make the right call.

Does seem that way. Don does hit the ball on occasion as he has the 2nd highest BA of players with 100 or more AB's (3rd if you want to count Micah Green and his 98 AB's) but he does whiff a lot. I do believe he has the highest ratio of K's to AB's at 1 every 3.7 AB's. The big problem I see with Don is that he is not a good hitter in the clutch. Johnny Coy who strikes out once every 4.9 AB's has 63 RBI's in 223 AB's (0.283 per AB). Don has 26 RBI's in 177 AB's (0.147 per AB). Of course, no one on this team is a consistent run producer outside of Johnny and that's ONE of our problems as a team. Casey Gillaspie is only slightly better than Don at 0.151 RBI's per AB.

                        • The #1 seed ISU is looking like they are on their way out of the tournament. UE leads 7-0 after 2 innings.

                          • And ISU finally scores. 2 run HR in the top of the 3rd makes it 7-2. ISU still batting.
